Marty was an aspiring basketball player at his high school. He was good at the game, but simply not tall enough to stand out from his peers. Determined to get a basketball scholarship to college, Marty agreed to test an experimental artificial growth hormone. But instead of making him grow a few inches taller, the hormone gave marty to power to make himself grow as big as a three story house, possibly even bigger. No longer even permitted to play basketball because of his unfair gift, Marty accepted the invitation to join the Protectorate.
