Slane’s mutant gene asserted itself when he hit puberty, and it was downhill from there. He loved the fear and destruction he could cause with his massive size and strength. In the end, though, he just sort of got bored with it. When the ASW was formed, allowing superhumans to battle it out on national television for money, he was one of the first to join up and he instantly became an audience favorite. You would think he would be the undisputed champion at all times, but in this game, brute strength doesn’t always give you the definitive advantage. Now he can still be destructive, but he gets paid significantly and legally for it and he is a beloved celebrity. Best of all worlds.
