Ben Mahoney was a roofer who had a nasty run-in with the chemical X-13 while working with roofing tar. Now, his body is composed completely of sticky tar, which he can change the shape of, stretch, throw in globs, and use to adhere himself to various things. To shape himself into a more pleasing form would take massive amounts of concentration, which Ben does not have. But despite his discomforting appearance, Ben keeps his spirits high and is rarely seen not smiling. He is among the ranks of the team N-Force.
