Genetic science company Genetech began a campaign looking into the possibility of combining human and animal DNA to create hybrid species. They were famous for offering huge sums of money for those willing to undergo experimental treatments. Not all of the trials were successful, but the ones that were became the half-animal group known as the Animutants.
Chris showed a natural talent for leadership, and was thought to embody the romantic notions of an eagle.
