Atlantique is of the species Mermalia, a half-human/half-fish hybrid that live mostly in secret in the deep ocean. The Kingdom of Aquaria where Atlantique lives has been taken over by the evil Emperor Shark and his minions, and its people have been all but enslaved by the tyrant. Atlantique, a brash and courageous young mermaid, has now taken it upon herself to assemble a group of freedom fighters in the hopes of one day defeating Emperor Shark and liberating her people. Trained in combat by her warrior uncle, Atlantique is more than ready to face her oppressors, with the aid of her fellow revolutionaries.
