Kali
Murdered in cold blood, this young Indian-American woman was resurrected as the living avatar of Kali – the motherly Hindu goddess of death, time, and doomsday – to take revenge on her attackers. After rescuing some children along the way, the goddess allowed the woman, one Alisha Mittal, to permanently retain a fraction of her divine power in order to continue fighting crime in her name.
Kali is a street-level hero with indestructible skin, a healing factor, supernaturally gifted swordsmanship, self-resurrection, and the abilities to induce fear and absorb life energy by touch.
My favourite thing about this design is that she’s wearing pink socks.
