Franklin’s mutant ability surfaced when he was ten years old, and because the electricity contained within his body was visible just beneath his skin, and because he didn’t have complete control of his power, he was taken out of the Caligo Public Schools System and home-schooled by his mother until he was 18. But he also learned the value of working hard and living honorably from his mother, and when he had finished all of his necessary courses, he passed the GED test with flying colors and then took to the streets fighting crime, his powers finally reasonably under control. When he saved the Blazer, who had been named head of Division-X, from falling to his death with a malfunctioning jet pack, he was invited to join the team. Franklin’s electricity powers allow him to fly, fire electric bolts from his hands, kill or re-energize any mechanical or electronic equipment, and even restart the heart of a dying person.
