When the gods in the ancient Greek pantheon were nearing their end, their essences retreated into various objects of power. The legendary beasts of this world did the same. The mighty Gryphon, a creature that was half lion and half eagle, was absorbed into its own war helmet.
Millennia later, this helmet was found by Leon. When he placed it on his head, he suddenly became endowed with the powers of the Gryphon. Now he can call forth the wings, eyes, and talons of an eagle and the claws, fur, and strength of a lion. He uses these abilities to fight crime on the streets of Caligo.
