First of all Kurayami looks awesome, love that pose and that jacket is incredible.  On my Rainbow sword characters I used the bottom part of a word bubble for the hair spikes, the one that looks like a crescent if you cut it in half.  There is no masking, I just use various insignias (Usually the circle one) to fill in any empty spaces and to cover up lines I don’t want to be seen.  Oh and yes we certainly do have a lot to catch up on. 😀
