“The sensory powers of a spider”… excuse me for a minute. (Jumps out of window) But seriously though, that line reminds me of that one The Simpsons Treehouse of Horror episode where a robber says “He’s got the proportionate strength of a paralysed spider!” after being mashed upside the head by a paralysed, web-slinging Homer.
This reminds me of a lot of the pulp comics of the 1930s and 40s. The over-descriptive monologue to bridge scenes, the deadpan delivery, the crazy in media res, and the “so fantastic that it’s patently absurd” gadget.
Uh . . . with the appropriate receiver, such a frequency could be translated into the right form to pass through the bioelectric field and work, but it would have to be delivered first or use Star Trek tech to beam it directly into Spidey’s brain stem . . . assuming it exists at all. Urrgh. Would be easier to transmit a frequency to cause spiders to spell a message all over the world. omg. Have I been sucked into making this msg possible? [scuttles away]
Just noticed this, but Doctor Doom says he licked his wounds. He must have been BORED while waiting on the same spider-channel for the same spider-time.

“Spider-Palm, Spider-Palm . . . “
Doctor Doom: “So, Spidey has Doom made your Spidey Sense…tingle?”
Spider-Man: “Y-y-y-yes, Doctor.”
Doctor Doom: “Mmmmm.”
