Is this Blue Bolt’s secret identity as a lounge singer?
He’s asking his sound engineer, who is African-American, if the microphone is on, or “hot” in broadcasting parlance. The engineer is quite naturally perturbed at the 1940s way he is being addressed.
Can’t say I’m surprised he got caught–this is why most voyeurs don’t carry microphones.
