This week we've got an eggs-ellent contest. What I egg-spect you to do is to create your own awesome Easter Eggs. Now, if you are planning to take a crack at it, I would suggest taking a look at either the egg shape on the last page of Backgrounds- Shapes or the squashed circle on the second page of Insignia- Shapes. The designs can anything you want, but I only want to see the eggs decorated. No backgrounds, otherwise you're getting scrambled. And, of course, I eggs-pect nothing but the most eggs-eptional quality from you all.
As per usual, no limits on entries this week and the contest will close at egg-sactly midnight Saturday (blog time). Please read the contest rules before entering, have fun and good luck.
Rules for posts, contests, and challenges that I am hosting: Original characters only, no copyrighted characters, no characters based on copyrighted characters, no characters based on RPG’s or other games. The characters must be your own design and not based on any character that might be copyrighted in any way. I have the right to delete any post that I believe crosses this line without warnings. Only post characters that you have either created for this contest specifically or you know for certain have never been entered to a contest before. If you aren’t certain, don’t enter it, because I’m not going to go back through all of the contests and check.
*Not sorry for any of the egg-based puns included in this post at all.*
Here you go. My first entry.
a Faberge type egg of my own design/
My wife has been affiliated with phoenix, well at least since 1997 when she had it as a screenname.
So egg is for her.
Everyone here probably knows I love Satyrs by now.
I did one very similar to this several years ago for an Easter Egg contest, but never got to post it.
Well I tinkered with it and like this one better anyway
Here is a full Satyr egg, with him helping the Easter Bunny. Well why not? They are both fertility symbols.
Bre and I have had a Company name and logo for years. Graphic Fantasies, and a stylised unicorn.
So this is my Graphic Fantasies egg.
I at least want to do one Ukrainian Pysanka Easter Egg.
but will have to be later. I’ve been up since 6AM (didn’t go to bed till about 2:30AM) so I’m going to take a nap now.
I’m a bit scrambled on the rules here. Can I create an egg creature (eyes, arms, legs, etc.) or does it solely have to be just a painted egg?
@UbP- I’d be interested to see what you come up with for an egg creature, so I’ll say yes to that one. And anyone making egg puns apart from me is un-eggs-eptable.
@cliff…A satyr egg…how unexpected 🙂
Seriously though…great work.
My first is a pumpkin egg.
This looks like fun 🙂
Huitzilopochtli’s Egg – The Earth goddess Coatlicue was impregnated by a ball of feathers that fell from the sky, giving birth to an iridescent cosmic egg. This shamed her children. So her daughter Coyolxauhqui rose up with her 400 sons to kill their mother. As they descended upon Coatlicue she sent a solitary hummingbird to open the egg with its beak. The shell gave way and Huitzilopochtli emerged with the radiance of the newly born sun, resplendent and fully armed. He slaughtered his siblings, cutting off Coyolxauhqui’s head and tossing it into the heavens where it became the moon so that Coatlicue could gaze upon it every night and ease her sorrow.
…I thought they said no backgrounds…whatever, it’s awesome.
True actually, the hummingbird is fine, but the ground bit…
Oh, sorry about that. I got a little carried away, wanted to give it a nest reminiscent of its mother…
The Cosmic Egg:
Another submission. Egg Eater. A small animal who goes inside eggs, mostly liking dragon eggs, and eats the unborn organism inside.
This is my first contest entry The Gentleman egg:
Prehistoric Easter Bunny has been discovered! http://www.heromachine.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/ams-easter-egg.png

And im back 😉 Pumpkin egg for that Halloween-Easter fusion 🙂
Easter wouldn’t be complete without a Blue Fire Egg! Get them while they’re hot!
Sometimes stereotypes are too easy to pass up . . .
Ok guys, this weeks contest is closed. The poll will be up shortly.
