Minecraft Star Stampy Cat To Deliver RSE Christmas Lecture Minecraft star Stampy Cat to give an RSE Christmas message 27 November 2015 YouTube and Minecraft legend Stampy Cat is to deliver an educational program in front of 2,000 students in Dundee. Stampy, whose real name was Joseph Garrett, will deliver the Royal Society of Edinburgh's Christmas Lecture in Caird Hall on Monday. The creator of the "Let's Play" videos for Minecraft and other games has more than 6.7m users on his YouTube channel. the wolves are never very far away The lecture will air exclusively on BBC iPlayer next Thursday. BBC Scotland said Minecraft fans will, for the first time, have the opportunity to watch Stampy demonstrate how he creates his videos during a meeting with Dundee games entrepreneur Chris van der Kuyl. Stampy will talk through the making of his Christmas special while giving the audience an insight into his life and a career which has seen him become one of the most popular YouTubers. Van der Kuyl claimed that Stampy was the "epitome digital native of the 21st century" who would inspire audiences regardless of age. "Stampy is an inspirational persona to a new generation that can clearly see future careers will depend on a unique mix of talent, creativity and technical skills that can all be developed," he said. The RSE lecture will be held as part of BBC Make it Digital, an initiative to encourage digital creativity among children and teens.
