How To Set Up A Minecraft Server On Windows 10 Step 5: Play on your server. After you have done all the adjustments, you can now play Minecraft with your friends. There are three ways to play Minecraft. 1. Locally (Same pc) - If you are just looking to play alone. 2. Internally(Lan) - This is for you and your friends to play together on the same WIFI. 3. Externally (Outside Lan) – This is for your friends to connect from anywhere around the world. Option 1. Locally: We'll start with option 1. minecraft To connect, open Minecraft and press Multiplayer. Go to "Add Server". For the server name you make it whatever you want. You can either type "0", or "LocalHost" into the server address field. This will allow you to connect to your server. Option 2. Internally(Lan),: So you have some friends that you want to play. Your ipv4 addresses is necessary to connect with your friends. I personally recommend going to https://www.whatismyip.com/what-is-my-public-ip-address/ and getting it. You can also access it by opening cmd, and typing "ipconfig". This will also give you it as well as all of your other ip configurations. Once you have the file, share it with friends and have them enter it in to the server address field. Option 3. Option 3. You will need your ipv4 for this, but there are additional steps. Port forwarding your router allows others to connect via your port. The default Minecraft port is 25565. Youtube has many videos that will help you port forward. Each provider is unique. So look up how to port forward for "your provider". Once you have done this, send your ipv4 out to your friends so they can connect. The End.
