How To Play Minecraft On LAN [TLauncher] The game allows you the possibility to create your own server. Everyone on your local network can connect to it. While everything is fairly straightforward, there are many limitations. In this article, we will go over each one in detail. Select the configuration type that you want and follow the steps. Server configuration when you are connected to the same Wi Fi network or LAN network as another player This setting will work well if there are multiple computers connected to the same WiFi or LAN network (connected through cable) and they are not too far apart. Srazy Windows: Open the Start menu on the PC where you want to start the server. Type cmd in the search box to open this program. Enter ipconfig into the window. Look for your local IP. It starts with 192.168.*. * , for example, 192.168.1.47 (yours will be the other! Copy it. MacOS: To find the local IP, open the Terminal (you can type "Terminal" in the Mac search and find it), type ifconfig * and copy it. Go to your world and in the Pause menu (Esc) click Open to LAN. You will see a message in the chat about the successful opening of your server. Connect your server to another computer. Open the version with TL icon. Enter the IP address + port you have previously obtained, 192.168.1.47.31790 in our example. If everything is okay, the connection should be established. You can now play on this server with a friend. Configuration of the Server when Playing over the Internet With Another Player Using Hamachi If you cannot be with another player on the same network physically, because PCs are far from each other, you can create a special network over the Internet using Hamachi. You can do the following on both computers: Create a Hamachi Account and download the program. After clicking on the link, click the Download button. Install the program and authorize under the created data. Now, click on "Create an additional network" on any of the Hamachi-logged PCs. Enter any name or password. The new network will appear in the window. Open TLauncher and choose the version with a TL icon. Then, run the game. It is better to log in to your TLauncher.org account. If you choose the version that does not have the TL icon, you won't be able to connect with the server without a Mojang licence. Go to your world and in the Pause menu (Esc) click Open to LAN. The chat will display a message about successful opening of the server as well as the server port (60000 in the example, you will have another). Click on "Connect with an existing network" to connect to another PC. Enter the network name or password that you have previously created. If the connection is successful, your friend's PC will be visible in the Hamachi window. You should also open the version on another computer with the TL icon (also, the version on the first PC must be the same), go to Multiplayer, and then open Direct connect. Now, enter the address from Hamachi in the IP field (of the PC, on which the server is opened) + port that we got earlier, 25.60.187.78:60000 in the example. If everything is in order, the connection will now be established. You can now play with a friend on the server. Setting up a Local Minecraft Server with Mods Once you have configured the server to play on the same WiFi (LAN) network or using Hamachi, you can install mods and play with your friends with them. It is easy to follow. Install the exact same mods on all clients. Everything should be identical. The Forge version should also be the same. For example, ForgeOptiFine (1.12.2). Make sure the version has the TL icon Now create and connect the server using the same steps as above depending on your network. You are now ready to play Minecraft with mods! Possible Problems and Solutions - An error message indicating "Invalid Session", or "Check Username" when connecting to the server appears. Solution: Make sure you run the version that has the TL icon. You will not be able to play the game without a license. If you are running exactly this one, make sure that the "Account Management" ->"Use TLauncher Skins" checkbox is enabled (in Launcher). - When connecting to the server "Io.netty.channel.AbstractChannel$AnnotatedConnectException: Connection time out: no further information" error appears. Solution: The game cannot find information about such server. This means that the network configuration is incorrect. Try to disable anti-virus and firewall on the host computer or configure it correctly. - Chunk loading is occurring when you connect to the server. However, the server immediately drops the connection (there is an error). Solution: Although the network configuration is correct, the firewall and antivirus are causing the connection to drop. Configure them correctly or disable them.
