"We Don't Sell Blocks" Exploring Minecraft's Commissioning Market In recent times, we have seen the emergence of videogames which include, as their primary mode of play, the creation of in-game content. While there is literature that has looked at a variety of aspects of these games, it is crucial to examine the potential ways to make money that be derived from their context. Through our ongoing ethnographic research we discovered an active market for commissions within the Minecraft creative community. Our findings reveal three principal players in this market: the clients, who are the owners of Minecraft servers as well as the contractors who manage the clients' orders of Minecraft maps and the builders who are the ones responsible for the creation of these maps. MINECRAFT KITPVP SERVERS has shown that the primary product at stake is not the in-game content as one might think however, it is the process of creating it. These results suggest that commissioning within Minecraft is a well-organized process, driven and sustained only by players in the game's community - plays a significant part in the current game's structure. Additionally they challenge the notion that content creation in gaming environments is free labor that is exploited by the developers of those games.
