How To Host And Configure A Minecraft Server With No-IP How to host and configure a Minecraft Server with No-IP. To begin, you'll require three things: Minecraft Account Minecraft Server Software No-IP Account Account Minecraft Server Software No-IP Account To connect to the server and play, you'll need an Minecraft account. If Minecraft servers don't already have an account, you can create one here. Step One: You'll first need to download the Minecraft Server software package hosted here and then start the server. Step 2 Step 2: Configuring and installing the Minecraft Server. Follow the instructions for your operating system by clicking the link below. https://minecraft.gamepedia.com/Tutorials/Setting_up_a_server Once everything is in place After that, move on to Step Three. Step Three: Port Forwarding If you require assistance with port forwarding, go to portforward.com. There you can enter the make and model number of your router and the device/application/software you wish to forward. The site will then provide you with an easy-to-follow guide on how to properly port forward your router. After completing port forwarding, go to www.portchecktool.com to check if port 25565 is open. If it is, you will receive an "Success!" message. You can also find additional port forwarding help in our General Port Forwarding Guide. You will need to verify that we are connecting your hostname to the correct external IP address. You can check your current IP address by, once again, visiting www.portchecktool.com from the network's location. Step Four Step Four: You will need to create an option to keep your no IP current with your dynamic public (external) IP address. There are many ways to do this. First, you need to download our free Dynamic Update Client. This client needs to be running continuously at the location of the network. It will then monitor your IP address every 5 minutes. If your IP has changed, it will update that change using No-IP. You can also determine if a device at your network supports No-IP Dynamic DNS updates integrated into the network. No-IP for DynamicDNS is available on certain devices like cameras and routers. This will eliminate the need to download Dynamic Update Client. Step Five: At this point you should be able to connect to your server and have your friends join as well. Simply provide them with the hostname you are using, along with the port number. For example, "hostname.domain.com:25565".
