Minecraft Festival is Postponed Due To Coronavirus Fears Minecraft is such a cultural phenomenon that it was supposed to have its own three-day event in September, complete with interactive exhibits, co-op and competitive gameplay live entertainment, panels and merchandise. Extremecraft Tickets for the very first Minecraft Festival in Orlando will be available starting this week. ReedPop is also the company that manages New York Comic Con and San Diego Comic Con -- has announced that the event was delayed by a full year due to the coronavirus outbreak. Although the event was still months away and the issue could be cured by then, the partners, producers, and exhibitors have encountered problems when it comes to planning the fest and making sure that the attendees have a fun time. Fans won't be able to be a part of Minecraft Live, though. Extremecraft The streaming event will be as scheduled, and will showcase the most recent Minecraft news as well as behind-the-scenes look at the future developments. With numerous conventions and events that have been cancelled or delayed due to coronavirus-related issues, this announcement isn't a huge surprise. However, it's odd that ReedPop and Mojang -- Minecraft's developer announced the convention less than one week ago, and the COVID-19 virus was already at top of mind. It was a smart move to cancel the event before tickets went on-sale and attendees made travel arrangements. This has saved a lot of hassles.
