Tabards A Guide to Cool Things to Hang over your Pants Tabards can say something about your character. They can be used to show your pride in your guild's skill or ferocity, or to prove that you're a sadistic, twisted guild leader who demands everyone to wear the pink fuzzy bunny badge. They can be used to showcase your skills in PvP, your standing with certain factions and your luck in the WoW game card game. They could also prove that you were a hero during the Battle of the Dark Portal, or that you have won a misleading victory against Illidan Stormrage. What kinds of tabards are there in WoW? Read (and look) on ... Guild Tabard Guild Tabard first tabard you'll ever have. These can be fierce and terrifying , or cute and cuddly. This tabard, Magtheridon’s Nocturnal guild is clearly geared towards the latter. You can also make use of the IGN's Guild Tabard Generator to preplan your own tabard. You can purchase it from the tabard vendor in any major city. Tabard of the Argent Dawn/Tabard of the Protector - These tabards are identical, but one is specifically designed for the Argent Dawn and the other is for "heroism during the Battle of the Dark Portal." The Scourge Invasion event allowed you to obtain the regular tabard by turning in Necrotic Runes. The quest to defeat demons at Dark Portal in the week prior to Burning Crusade brought out the Protector tabard. If you get the Protector one you can wear it every five minutes to emit an intense light and flex, "showing your heroism." The Green/Purple Trophy Tabards worn by the Illidari: These are the same ones that Illidan's minions in Shadowmoon Valley wear. You get them through a brutal quest line in Shadowmoon Valley, which starts with a drop of the patrolling level 72 elite Val'Zareq the Conqueror on the Path of Conquest. You can take the book you received from him and deliver it to an imprisoned draenei on the Path and he launches an event called the Battle of the Crimson Watch. Illidan sends four waves of many, various elite demons as well as blood elves at you. Bring an elf or two. If you make it through the fight, Illidan will challenge you to face him at The Black Temple. You get an attractive ring or one of these tabards and an Naaru in Shattrath City.
