Special Forces Leader Probed For 'sexting Fellow Soldier's Girlfriend' After a fellow soldier made a complaint about an Army special forces task force leader, the investigation is underway. He claimed that he had sex in secret with his girlfriend. Sgt. Maj. Chuck Ritter has been accused of sexting and sharing explicit images with Sgt. 1st class Daniel Regeimbal's wife, Kate. Ritter and Kate allegedly first met in August 2021 after Ritter confronted Kate at North Carolina's bar. She claimed that her fiance was being 'trashed in a group conversation with Special Forces soldiers' by Connecting Vets Ritter. Regeimbal was the subject of multiple investigations amid allegations of steroid abuse and racist text messages. These claims were made after Ritter was'sent home a few days early' from his Syrian post in 2019. The soldier allegedly had an altercation with a warrant officer and was sent back to Fort Bragg in North Carolina a few weeks earlier than his command. After the investigations, Regeimbal lost his Special Forces tab. It is not clear if Regeimbal's allegations were ever proven. Sgt. Maj. She claims that their conversations grew into something sexual, and included the sharing of inappropriate photos. Connecting Vets reviewed chat logs between the two men and found that the messages were between 'two consenting adults. According to chat logs Kate also provided contradictory information regarding her relationship status. She told Ritter that Regeimbal and Kate had split. She also revealed that she and her husband had been married and were now living together. Ritter declined to directly discuss the allegations with Connecting Vets until after the investigation was completed but told the news outlet: 'I am open for the investigation, I am not above the law. If they think I should be penalized, so be it. None of us are beyond reproach.' He told the news outlet he 'never spoke ill of Regeimbal' and believes he is a 'good soldier with unlimited potential, but one who needs to make a course correction in his personal and professional life.' Ritter also alleged that Kate claimed she was single when they started their text relationship. Ritter, while being under surveillance by his superiors allegedly called Kate saying: "I got a phone call from my CSM recent that Reggie was filing complaint and opening an inquiry on me." He instructed Kate to 'delete everything,' according to a recording of their phone call which was obtained by the news outlet. He also added: "Facebook messaging and all of it," The sergeant suggested Kate delete her personal message and call logs. Janice Burton, Special Warfare Center, confirmed that their command was looking into the allegations against SGM Ritter and declined to provide further details. She said: 'Following this process, I could offer you more information. Ritter is described as having "led a storied career with Special Forces" and having served in both Iraq (where he was wounded numerous times by enemy fire) and Afghanistan (where he was "wounded numerously by enemy fire." Burton said he 'served honorably throughout his career' and is 'well respected.' He also reportedly donates his time by working with special operations charities.
