Small crafting recipes that are at least 2x2 can be made there. This includes crafting tables and sticks, crafting boards, torches and other items that are not shaped. You can make items using a 3x3 grid. To accomplish this, make a craft board with 4 wooden planks and place it on the globe. Then you can press the use button while facing it. This will open an interface with three-dimensional crafting grids that the player can use to make any recipe to craft in the game. There is also a recipe book that you can get every crafting recipe. Certain recipes don't require the ingredients be placed in a specific order on the crafting grid. These are often referred to as non-shapeless recipes. For example, players can create a fermented spider's eye by placing the ingredients anywhere on the grid. [note 1] However most recipes require their ingredients be placed in the right places on the grid of crafting. These are also known as shaped recipe. Shaped recipes allow ingredients to be moved' up or down, left, right, or both. They can also flip sidesways. For instance, a 3x1 recipe, such as bread, can be made using the top, middle or bottom row of the 3x3 grid. It is not possible to make using the 2x2 grid since it requires three ingredients to be covered. Bows can be made by putting the strings on the left instead. Certain recipes are not able to be replicated or moved in this way. These are generally referred to as fixed recipes. For instance, dyes used in banner recipes have to be specifically placed to achieve the desired pattern. [Bedrock Edition only] Data packs and mods can add fixed recipes. Unlike other in-game actions such as smelting, brewing, and the enchanting, crafting is totally silent. On this wiki, shapeless recipes are marked with a pair of intertwined arrows on the table of crafting. This symbol doesn't actually appear in the game.
