Ok guys, I’ve noticed a few people (including myself) have been having an anomaly occur when pasting text into the forums from other places. Something like this:
<p style=”margin: 0px; font-size: 12px; line-height: normal; font-family: Helvetica;”>Sample Text Example For Pasting Text Into The New Forums</p>
Now what this should say is Sample Text Example For Pasting Text Into The New Forums, without the additions at the start and end. This is just a very basic example, but I’ve seen some that are a lot worse.
The way to sort this out is after you’ve pasted the text into the reply box, you should see two buttons in the top right corner of the reply box, one that says Visual and one that says Text. If you go to the text box you’ll be able to see your post as a text file, including the code that tells the program to place the image in the post, to make certain words bold or italic and what segments are pasted in. If you delete the paste code it will remove the excess code that shows up in the post when submitted, without affecting the post its self (unless you delete the wrong bit and lose some of what you posted, but that’d be your fault not mine).
I would sort it all out myself after you’ve posted, but in some cases it’s hard to tell where the code ends and the post begins, so I’d rather not mess up your posts.October 10, 2014 at 12:36 pm #112424
Oh, that makes sense, thanks for letting us know.
By the way, will our PM’s be restored, or are they lost forever?May 22, 2017 at 3:42 pm #145454
