For the next few weeks we will be building a team of RPG characters based on the following classes: Warrior/Fighter, Knight/Paladin, Barbarian/Berzerker, Monk/Martial Artist, Archer/Ranger, Thief/Rogue/Assassin, Priest/Healer, Mage/Wizard, and finally Summoner/Necromancer/Druid.
Your CDC challenge this week is to create an original heroic Warrior or Fighter character.
The winning entrant will receive a HM3 version of their character rendered by yours truly.
The characters must be your own design and not based on any character that might be copyrighted in any way.
Rules for posts, contests, and challenges:
Original characters only, no copyrighted characters, no characters based on copyrighted characters. No characters based on Official RPG NPC's ( Non-Player Characters ). Please keep all submissions PG13. I have the right to delete any post that I believe crosses this line without warning. Only post characters that have been created solely using Hero Machine, and that you know for certain have never been entered in a contest before. If you aren’t certain, don’t enter it, because I’m not going to go back through all of the contests and check.
All entries must be in JPG or PNG form (BMPs are too big), posted to a publicly accessible website (like the HeroMachine :,ImageShack, PhotoBucket, or whatever);
- Entries must be made as a comment or comments to this post, containing a link directly to the image and the character name;
- Please name your filesas [your name]-[character name].[file extension] before you upload it. So DiCicatriz, for instance, would save his “Bayou Belle” character image as DiCicatriz-BayouBelle.png.
Please make the link go directly to the image (like this) and not to a hosting jump page (like this).
This contest will close on Monday, May 18th at 6:00pm Eastern

I didnt relise it at first but the first one I made turned out way more suited for the knight/paladin so am waiting to use it for that so I made a pure TANK of a character. He is all about offense and attacking and uses many high level weapons. Along with armor that purely ups his strength.

Ok, haven’t entered a contest in quite a while, but I got inspired to do a fantasy version of one of my characters for this contest (even though her hero identity is Paladin, she doesn’t have any healing powers or magic, so she fits better into this category than the Paladins category).

Urvon Screamskull is a Half-Orc warrior from the Orodreth Wastes.
https://www.deviantart.com/steelgeneral2/art/URVON-SCREAMSKULL-841938285
A child of two worlds, and wanted by neither, Urvon has used the disdain shown by both Humans & Orcs to fuel his desire to become one of the finest warriors on the continent. He has trained with (or at least watched) many of the greatest combatants. Finding what skills/styles best suited him and molded them in to his own unique fighting ability. His twin swords are of his own design and he uses them with great effectiveness.

My half-elf warrior, Analisse:

Oh man I picked the right time to come moseyin’ on around here. Hopefully it’s okay to submit older pictures that fit the theme.
https://www.deviantart.com/visualgoodness/art/Cille-RhojhanStormcloud-739791070
Rhojhan Stormcloud left his dragonborn clan behind after killing his brother over a woman and never looked back. He took to a life on the sea, where the only thing that mattered was his strength and his prowess. He developed a kinship with the ever-changing nature of the sea and the storm, and when the god of storms himself offered to spare him from death in a spectacular shipwreck, he took the opportunity to add some divine wrath to his lightning-charged warhammer. Now serving as the harbinger of the storm, he relishes the chance to show the comfortable and complacent how quickly and destructively the world can change.
So… my first “warrior” seemed more like he would be in the barbarian category, so I decided to create this bad@$$ chick instead.
Sang Dame (Blood Lady)
https://www.deviantart.com/mrlm32/art/Sang-Dame-Blood-Lady-842235123
Sang Dame was born to the House of the Black Rose. This was a Noble House hailed in Rangai that specifically specialized in warfare, such as welding weapons, grooming warriors and assassins, plotting strategic battles, etc. Sang was born and raised to be a warrior. She was put through many laborious training sessions, some of which consisted of continuous sparring until a candle burned out, running nonstop for a whole night, and taking many poisons into her body, so she could be immune once she was healed by a cleric.
It turned out that those labors payed off. She grew to be the greatest woman warrior in the Black Rose. She was never really put to good use though. That is, until the other Noble Houses in the land of Rangai found out that the Black Rose, formerly known as the House of Safekeeping, was planting black roses on their property. Black roses were highly poisonous. When consumed or injected, it made the consumer bleed out of all of his/her pores. Planting black roses was forbidden. The only healing potion that can be used to disarm the black rose’s poisons was one made of a white rose.
The other Noble Houses were concerned, and very suspicious. Once they figured out that the assassins were being groomed to kill the noblemen and women, they immediately went to war. Their mistake.
Now, Sang Dame fights against the Houses of Rangai, all the while wearing the colors of her House (black and red).
I wasn’t happy with his armor, so I decided to change it.
Here is my second version…

Mulva the Smasher
At the age of 3, Mulva was sold into slavery by destitute parents with too many mouths to feed and not enough money to go around. Her first owner was a sorcerer named Larvik, who used her for grisly experiments in his “flesh pit”. After failing to make her grow wings, he settled for grafting an extra pair of arms onto her and sold Mulva to a rich friend who wanted to go into fight training as a hobby.
Daeron was a cruel, task driven bastard, but his methods yielded results. In a few years, Mulva was winning enough silver and gold in fighting dens to prove a good investment. Eventually, as word of her fighting prowess spread, she caught the eye of Gerrid Prince of the City-state of Durrgh. When Daeron refused to sell her, Gerrid had his guards pull out some blades and insisted. Later that night, Mulva was loaded into the back of a caravan wagon and began a journey to a place that would be her home for the next 13 years.
As her fame rose in the arena, Mulva was rewarded decently for her victories. Though lacking freedom of movement or personal rights, she ate better than most denizens of the city and slept comfortably. After one incredibly impressive victory, Mulva celebrated a bit too heartily. She awoke the next morning, surrounded by chamber servants in varous states of undress, with a pounding headache. She’d fought hungover before, but it was never a good idea.
Stepping onto the balcony outside her room, Mulva saw smoke rising all over the city, which was in a state of ruin. Making her way into the halls, she questioned a guard and discovered that the city had been attacked by a dragon the night before. The Prince was dead and all was in chaos. Mulva used that chaos to her advantage. After a quick trip to the armory, she subdued the guards to the entrance of the slave quarter and left the City-state of Durrgh behind her.
A few miles down the road, it suddenly hit Mulva that she had no idea what her next move would be. This both frightened and excited her. The future, for the first time, was a blank slate for her to make her own mark upon.
Here is my character:
Leona Dallani, the Warrior Princess Exile.
https://www.deviantart.com/keithprovostdesign/art/Tartan-Panda-Leona-842317199
The Dallani family ruled over the bay side kingdom of Iridesce for four generations. The Dallani’s boasted the sigil of the lion because of their famous red hair and brawny build. Iridesce fits itself among dozens of other small kingdoms that claim land along the Superior Bay in a long-standing alliance called the Bayside Agreement.
The Dallani’s faced hard civil wars and infections, and the only heir to the throne of Iridesce belonged to Leona Dallani. The Bayside Agreement held kingdoms reliable for uprooting princesses from their kingdoms and only sent to other locations within the alliance. Dallani was promised to the Kingdom of Rune who was burdened with only a single son to rule in succession, so an unlikely term was added to the contract for Dallani. If she was to give birth to a son, that son would be sent back to Iridesce as long as Dallani remained the Queen of Rune.
Tragedy hit the kingdom of Rune and their prince was King far earlier than expected. The prince was the sole survivor of a regicidal attack, but he was observed cowering between the pews of the church as the assassin showed pity on the teenage boy and spared his life. The prince was secretly called the Cowering King. When Dallani reached Rune, she was hesitant to pursue a royal life to begin with, but once she found out her betrothed was named the Cowering King, she arranged an escape by paying a treasure seeking ship Captain to sail her away from the Superior Bay. The great escape succeeded, and Dallani avoided her responsibilities as a princess and become a gifted warrior for the treasure hunter.
After ten years at sea, Dallani returned to the Superior Bay and found that her family was removed from the throne of Iridesce and the Cowering King was killed in heroic defense of a great battle among the realm. With nowhere else to go, she took her loot and riches and established herself as the famous warrior princess, keeping safe in the old dwarven mines with a small band of foot soldiers of her own. She wears her original tiara from her days as a princess, and she arms herself with a prized long sword from her adventures at sea.
