Ok guys, last week I asked you all to come up with the best replacement dialogue for this panel:
And here are your top 5:
Treasure Hunter: Say, isn’t it great that no one recognizes voices in the Marvel Universe?
The Atomic Punk: I dare you! To tell me that the “New 52” was a successful reboot of the DC Universe.
Katmir: YOU! Thank you for always boosting my social media scores, sir!
RobM: Wait… I thought you were Commissioner Gordon.
david a grubble: No! I will NOT do an ad for uncle ben’s rice.
It was a very difficult descision to make as to who would win this week, but there has to be a winner. And that winner is....
RobM
Oh, COME ON!!!! There is NO way Spidey has the slightest idea who Commissioner Gordon is, and little likelihood that he would ever confuse the two if he did! Sorry, this one is LAME! {Nothing personal against the contestant, just… even the Converted Rice gag would have been better…}
@William Peterson- Dude, chill out. That’s the joke. No need to take it so seriously. And, if we’re being honest here, you brought all the attention to this entry. I hadn’t noticed Rob’s entry until I saw your comment debasing it, so I went back and looked at it again. So, well done, you played yourself.
Hat tip to you, RobM. Way to think outside the box. I still don’t understand how Spiderman could talk to JJ without some type of voice alteration mod… “Peter, is that you?” I guess it easier to believe than Superman’s glasses disguise.
Congrats, RobM!
Thanks for the nod, JR. Lots of humorous jabs this week.
WP: Perhaps Spider-Man met Commissioner Gordon during a Marvel-DC crossover event? Teen Titans GO! makes numerous references to Spidey and how the team reveres the webslinger. They even dedicated an episode to Marvel superhero origins (S4, E22: Orangins.
And in that spirit, maybe the next Caption Contest can feature a panel from an Amalgam story?
@The Atomic Punk- If I can find a good panel to use.
Great stuff guys. Congrats, man. . . Actually, the two men don’t look terribly different from what I remember. Crossovers are the strongest fiction when done right.
Ya got me clappin’ and laughin’, peeps 😀 Congratulations, RobM! #MakeMineAmalgam ! lol
Thanks for the win, JR. And thanks to everyone for the kind comments. I’ve been away for a while because of work, so I’m just now seeing the results – which I guess is good because I missed all of the controversy.
Thanks, all. Just now checking back in after a long absence because of work demands and I appreciate the win and the kind comments.
