More Breaking News: Arrowverse To Add Black Lightning

Not to be outdone by Marvel, DC announced yesterday that they are adding a Black Lightning TV series to their excellent CW based Arrowverse. The show will be produced by the same team behind Arrow and The Flash, so it will likely be excellent, and will star Cress Williams (Prison Break, Closer To Home) as the titular hero. Oh and he looks pretty damn awesome in costume too...

It's been a good week for fans of Superhero TV shows so far hasn't it?

My concern is that the Arrowverse might stretch itself thin. However, it’s obvious that everyone involved (producers, writers, directors, actors, et. al.) love what they do and have seemingly boundless energy.

Black Lightning’s costume is good and matches the Arrowverse. Very “Atom” in its contours and plates. However, that glowing belly button makes me think that he’s incubating an alien.

Speaking of the Arrowverse, specifically The Legends of Tomorrow. What a season finale!

What the what?! Black Lightning and Cress Williams…oh yes!

I feel like this was announced a while back. I remember reading something about the actress cast to play one of his daughters.

But either way, super excited for this. I’m a big fan of the Arrowverse and of Black Lightning so hopefully this ends up being a good show.

Am I the only nerd in all of existence who actually hates the Arrowverse tv shows and would have preferred a continuity of shows based on Smallville instead?
