Pop Quiz – Jurassic Mash Up – Winner!

First of all, I have to send a big thank you out to those who took the time to enter. The Pop Quiz has been MIA for a while, but I hope to rectify that. Check the Blog for future editions cuz you never know what day it will be or how long you will have.

First up...Cliff.

Just fantastic! Wonderful use of items, and I love the water effect you got. On a side note I have to address Ty...brilliant and so well done, but the challenge of a Pop Quiz is what you can create within the given deadline. Please know that there was a lot of love for Ty from this guy.

Next - Geno

Eerily reptilian and a masterful use of disparate items to create a truly epic creature. This guy has attitude!

And finally - Nug

Great use of items - the eyes are so expressive, the tusks are very cool and the way you addressed the body and stance of the creature - and the impending threat - is stellar.

All three are very creative and beautifully rendered, but I have to give the win to Geno. You created a dino-nightmare! Well done, and again, thanks to all who entered.

Cheers, and see you soon.

Thanks djuby! And great job to Cliff and Nug as well. Nug, I agree with djuby – yours has a great expression and stance – looks like he’ll run you down if you come one step closer. Cliff – the creature himself is great, but I also really love your water effects – I was trying to do something similar recently and couldn’t get it to work.

  2. Nug says:

Thanks for the nod, Djuby! You left Herr D out though. Cool stuff to all of you guys! This was a fun one!

  3. djuby says:

Good Lord! I have no idea how that happened! My apologies Herr D. Very creative as always. I am continually inspired by your take on contests, and how outside the box you think.

  4. Herr D says:

Congrats, Nug, and thanks. Great works all . . .

@djuby: . . . it’s okay, man. And thanks. An acquaintance of mine was trying to explain me to someone and said, “you know how some people say ‘hold on, let me think outside the box a minute?’ HE says: hold on, there’s a box here somewhere . . . ” Sometimes I finish an entire entry and wonder if it’ll be allowed, looking at the other entries. In THIS case, it occurred to me you might’ve actually drank part of my entry . . . Don’t forget to tip the BARKEEPSAURUS. I’ll be here all epoch . . . period? . . . era? Or something like that.
