Poll Position Ideas? HELP!

Ok, so I have had a rather rough weekend at work, just got in the door 15 minutes ago ( work overnights ) and I am mentally as well as physically exhausted and in no small amount of pain. SO since my brain is fried right now I am turning to you the fine people of the HeroMachine communities for some ideas for tomorrows Poll Position. I am heading off to bed now but when I wake up I will review your suggestions and picking one I hope set out to write up tomorrows poll position post. Also feel free to drop some ideas here in the comment section for Wednesdays Anime Talk also. I have something in mind already for that however if I see a better suggestion I might just go with that instead.

  1. Favorite and least favorite category of “things that keep you away from Heromachine.” Favorites would include spouses and children, fav. t.v. shows, video games–Least Faves would include work, homework, household chores, migraines, body aches, etc.

    Favorite special effect on screen. Moments in the movies where you laughed when no one else did (actor or physics knowledge, etc.)

  2. I was going to do a big question on which is better Watchmen or V For Vendetta, but thinking about it, it’s probably a better versus than big question.

  3. Maybe you could do which is a Better genre?
    and then use choices like
    Noir
    Pulp
    Ect

  4. These have probably been covered. Characters with similar powers from either different publishers or even within the same comic universe:

    Green Arrow vs. Hawkeye, Deathstroke vs. Deadpool, Flash vs. Kid Flash, Plastic Man vs. Mr. Fantastic

    The different ways the characters use their powers and skills. The different personality types. The originality of the characters; especially, when you can tell that a character is a rip-off.

    * Old School vs. New School
    * Digital vs. Print editions (Jenny Calender: “Computer don’t smell, Rupert.”; Rupert Giles: “I know.”
    * RPG vs. MMOG
    * Science Fiction vs. Fantasy (and their baby, Science Fantasy)
    * Lead vs. Plastic miniatures
    * Original Story vs. Hollywood version
    * Original Movie vs. Remake / Reboot
    * Theatrical Movie vs. Made-for-TV (which is often subset to Original vs. Remake)
    * TV Show vs. TV Show (of comparable genre)
    * Franchise vs. Franchise
    * Steed vs. Steed (for example, Battle-Cat vs. Tundro)
    * Autobot vs. Decepticon (1st Gen Toys vs. Cheap plastic crap)
    * Chips, dips vs. Chains, whips (bonus if you know what movie that’s from)
    * Actor’s role vs. Another role (Val Kilmer – Madmartigan vs. Batman – yeah, we know which one wins)
    * Playstation vs. Xbox (wear a helmet and duck)
    * Pancakes vs. Waffles
    * Work vs. HeroMachine
    * School vs. HeroMachine
    * Sleep vs. HeroMachine

  5. Well Atomic said everything that needed to be I think…lol.

    I like the PlayStation vs Xbox, but that could border line on political / religious arguments. (I’ve seen it happen) As to not cop a further idea off of Atomic, how about………

    So I’ve been made fun of by people not of our ilk and community. This has been for everything from reading comic books (which is now in a state of chic) to reading a ShadowRun book at school. ( I hate when I’m asked to explain RPG’s when its being done out of ridicule and not interest.) Being a geek seems to mean having obscure amounts of knowledge on a specific subject. So if that is the measuring stick, then there is a WHOLE LOT MORE geeks than at first glance. Most would never admit it though. SOOOO…Its my poll idea to ask…

    Who is the Bigger Closet Geek: (Or who’s a geek and doesn’t realize it…)
    Fantasy Football Guy
    Firearms Guy
    Car Guy / The Gear Head
    Guitar Dude
    I go to the gym and I eat 6 small meals at a designated time and place guy.
    etc. etc.

  6. How about theme songs, like Hans Zimmer’s An Ideal of Hope from Man of Steel vs. the classic Superman Theme by John Williams?

    Or we could see if Da Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Batman! really is the best the Caped Crusader’s got.

  7. Thank you all for the suggestions, I will be taking a peek at this thread from time to time I think when I am having difficulty thinking of a good poll! If any of you ever have an idea for one of my posts here on the blog, that you’d like to see be it the Poll Position post, Anime Talk, The Tuesday Daily Panel post, or the Caption contest feel free to drop me an email, or leave a PM on the forums.

  8. Kaldath what about doing a poll position on Superhero TV shows, whether they are better as cartoons or live action.
