Power User Profile: TOOL

I'm happy to bring back the Power User Profiles for at least one week, featuring longtime contributor TOOL!

  1. Online name used in HeroMachine environs: TOOL
  2. What is the secret origin of that name: My last name is Stanley, like the Stanley Tools, no relation unfortunately other wise I would be enjoying a vodka martini on some private island that I owned.
  3. A photo (or drawing) of you in "real life":
  4. Real name: Cameron Stanley
  5. Real city/state/country: Beeville, Texas of the USA
  6. Real job: Federal Officer for 3 years now, but have 6 years government time from the military.
  7. Real age: 27
  8. Gender: All man, wait...one, two, and three, yeah all man.
  9. Relationship status (married, single, in a long-term relationship, dating someone, "it's complicated", etc): Married with 4 children, what can I say I got started young, but by the time they are out of the house I will be young enough to enjoy my retirement.

  10. Online archive of your creations: I have many different folders of stuff for your viewing pleasure but here's my personal stuff I have made.
  11. The best piece of HeroMachine art you've created: I know some of you all have seen this one but when I scroll through my eye comes to rest on this one.

  12. Favorite all-time geeky movie if any: I am not really sure what would be a "Geeky" movie for me, does all the Dragon Ball series count. I like them all, the original, Z, and GT.
  13. Favorite all-time geeky book if any: I love any book by R.A. Salvatore, especially ones about Drizzt Do' Urden!
  14. Favorite all-time geeky TV show if any: Most of the shows that I have liked or loved on TV have been one hit wonders. Firefly, Dresden Files, Jon Doe, but there are a few that made it longer like Heroes, Supernatural, or Merlin.
  15. Favorite all-time comic book character if any: Deadpool of course! I love the way he can make a joke as he puts a bullet between your eyes, then turn right around and be ready for some Mexican food.
  16. If you could have one super-heroic power in real life, you'd choose: Its kinda hard to put into a specific name, but its kinda like if Rogue and Peter from Heroes had a kid. Absorption and assimilation, I could take the life force, knowledge, and powers from others and add it to my own collective by touching them. Look out other PUP's I am coming for you Ha Ha Ha, just kidding.

  17. In your leisure time you like to: I like to play on Face book, play video games, play with my kids, or work out. I dunno, I am just kinda laid back and try to go with the flow and have fun!

  18. Character design turn-ons (things you love to see that make for a good design): I love it when someone uses an item in a way that it is not intended for, when I have to stare and say how did they do that? Take your time and make something really eye catching that you can be proud of!
  19. Character design turn-offs (things you hate to see that make for a bad design): I hate it when someone tries to make a character look evil by just making everything so dark that you cant even see the character or tell where he/she/it ends and everything else in picture begins. Also when there are easy to spot mistakes in a character like an unmasked hand, or one leg on top of improper layering. Proof your art before you post because once you put it out there its out there, trust me...
  20. Best tip for a HeroMachine newbie: The best tip I can give to a new user on HM is to play around with different items and themes for a character. Don't jump right into the first contest you see, wait and see how things are done. Read the rules that Jeff puts out! See what you like and dislike and assimilate some things for yourself but make it your own, don't steal exact skills. Participate in critiques with a proper attitude to take what good or bad comes along and learn from it and you will become an artist all your own.
  21. Any personal message you'd like to share with the HeroMachine community about Geek Life: My wife likes to pick on me because she says she didn't realize how much of a "geek" I was before we married. I was rough, in the military, and lived in the country. Just because you have some nerd in you doesn't mean you have to have taped glasses and a pocket protector. Be who "you" want to be, whoever that may be. I hope that life helps make you a well rounded person with different characteristics and experiences, good and bad. Its through the good and bad that we grow into who we are. God Bless.
