Why’s this cowpoke got his mini-Stetson strapped to his back like Captain America’s mighty shield??
How could Bullet mistake that outfit for anyone elses??
Oh, wait, the original Ghost Rider, that’s who… He’s scary, even in 2099.
The stance, the wrist, the skin-tight leather pants, the purple accessories, the traveling around with an adoring teenaged boy, the unique method he has of firing his gun by squatting and slapping his thighs … it’s just pure awesome.
And you’re right Owl Poop, I hadn’t noticed the Cap-style double harness on his Stetson. That’s just weird.
wow, this guy is awesome! I mean like, perfect gay joke RIGHT THERE!!! Do you see it everyone? I mean look at the outfit!! (Where did you find these old things anyway Jeff?)
xD
Danny (9): That’s probably due to the color correction I did to try and lighten the whites, or maybe the original scan. Looking at the cover, the accessories are definitely purple. This is a Charlton character, so I assume it was included in the IP purchased by DC but I don’t know that for sure.
X-stacy (10): That comment wins the thread!
John (11): I don’t think that’s Kane, no, but I can’t seem to confirm that for sure. It has that kind of classic Charlton stable look to it, kind of like the Alex Toth-designed and foreign-animated Hanna Barbera super hero cartoons of the era. Looking through the issue, it doesn’t have that Kane-like fluidity and dynamism.
So, that guy that calls himself Gunmaster, just got outgunned by his teenage sidekick?

What is that under his butt? Or do I really want to know? 🙂
“Don’t shoot Bullet”?
What, are you expecting to to shoot water?
Bullet is his teenaged boy sidekick.
I think that the thing “under his butt”is the stripes, on the hamstring of his left leg. Bad costume design.
You know, some people just won’t take a hint.
I suppose that’s what you get when you arm them before you brainwash them.
I think that’s an attempt at adding shadow behind his leg.
Sorry, but it needs to be said. That outfit, that pose, the wrist position (yes, I know he’s dropping the gun). Still…
“Don’t shoot, Bullet… It’s me Gunmaster… You thilly crazy buns!”

To me, the accessories look blue, not purple.
@Jeff: Is Gunmaster one of the Charlton characters now owned by DC?
Don’t trust him, Bullet, he could clap his thighs together at any time!
Pray tell – is that the work of a young Gil Kane?
Does that scene imply that Bullet just shot him in the wrist? This is why the easily startled sidekick shouldn’t carry a gun. Things like this happen.
Hell, that’s probably just how things went in the original wild west. You can’t know for sure, because you haven’t been there.

@Jeff: Understood. It actually looks better blue than purple.
