Hero making rundown
Frequent commenter Niall Mor has a good post up at his blog comparing three of the more popular character portrait creators that’s well worth checking out. He has links to all three and sample images as well, so head on over and take a look when you get the chance.

Wowsers, Jeff! Thanks for the plug! I was just on my way over here to tell you about my review, but I see you already noticed. Somebody does read my crummy little blog after all! You like me! You really like me!

Hmm…As much as I love Heromachine, you may have some competition now, Jeff…The Portuguese hero program is very impressive, and allows me to make characters in the DCAU style, which I love…

It’s a really nice program, with a number of really clever features. I like that DCAU style as well, and considered adding that style pose to the main HeroMachine a year or more ago, but it was voted down by the community.

Jeff you should add the DCAU Styles they are cool you dont have to take the other ones away

Copyright laws must be a little different in Brazil. I suspect if HeroMachine incorporated actual iconography from Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman, and the X-Men, there would be…trouble.

Yeah…There’d be trouble…Anyways, I’m all for a DCAU-style add-on to Heromachine, perhaps just a re-drawing of all the items in the style…

Yes, were they not in Brazil they would be in a world of hurt. No way I’d get away with using those copyrighted items like Superman’s logo, the entire Iron Man set of armor, etc. Hell I got a cease and desist just because you could make a green muscle guy, and that’s about as generic as it gets!
I’d be up for doing a DCAU style set of HeroMachine items in 2.5, but it lost to a flying pose in the voting twice, I think it was.

Hmm…Maybe it could be it’s own little program, like the Real Life and Rock Star versions were…But I digress.
