Kaldath’s Caption Contest #62

Ladies and Gentlemen it is once again time for our caption contest, however before we get started I have a bit of an announcement. I have decided to stop doing this contest as a weekly thing and instead will be returning to the format I had when I first started it. Starting with this one the caption contest will be bi-weekly from now on, meaning that I will be posting a new contest every other week with the contest winners being announced during the off weeks.

Now with that out of the way, it is time for all you machiners out there to give me your best dialogue for this image:

Beast boy 1

The normal rules apply, which are: You are limited to Three (3) entries which are due by 5:00 PM Eastern Time on Tuesday March 31st. Of course I as always expect you to keep your entries no worse than PG-13 in nature and that you follow all the normal rules of the forum when writing your caption for the above image. That being said I wish you all Good luck!

PUP REDUX: Anarchangel

I think that a recurring theme of this series is going to be “and when I started out this is whose style I badly ripped off”. Last time out it was DiCicatriz and this week we have yet another of my all time favourite ‘machiner’s. A great creator with a seeming bug fixation (no idea why, those things is creepy), but at least he manages to turn them into awesome characters. Oh and for everyone who joined the community after his original PUP was posted, now you know what the name is all about. So, now I’ll shut up and let Anarchangel “blabber on a bit” (his words).

Character Design Contest ♯114- On The Rogue Again

For our penultimate Fantasy RPG class, we’re going to be focusing on rogues. For anyone who doesn’t know what that entails, you’re basically looking at the sneaky characters. Thieves, assassins, ninjas are all fair game here, anyone who uses stealth and speed over raw power classifies. However, we’re not looking at people who would be best suited to laying traps or dealing long range damage, that’s for next week, you want to be as up close and personal, preferably without being noticed in the process. Bonus points go to anyone who can get onto the poll without me noticing. 😉

As per usual, no limits on entries this week and the contest will close at midnight Saturday (blog time). Please read the contest rules before entering, have fun and good luck.

Rules for posts, contests, and challenges that I am hosting: Original characters only, no copyrighted characters, no characters based on copyrighted characters, no characters based on RPG’s or other games. The characters must be your own design and not based on any character that might be copyrighted in any way. I have the right to delete any post that I believe crosses this line without warnings. Only post characters that you have either created for this contest specifically or you know for certain have never been entered to a contest before. If you aren’t certain, don’t enter it, because I’m not going to go back through all of the contests and check.

Character Design Contest ♯113 (Clerics) Poll

Character Design Contest ♯112 (Paladins) Winner

This weeks poll got over 250 votes in total, which is a record for a CDC poll (if we exclude CDC97, because that was an anomaly to say the least) and, as you might expect with voting numbers so high, the poll was close. Our winner only won by 9 votes from 2nd, who was a further 11 votes ahead of 3rd, giving us a nice and neat 20 votes covering the top 3. However, I’m sure no-one will be surprised with who the winner is. And that winner is Guy Genesis for his amazing Jaquis Kobar. Congratulations Guy and well done to everyone else who entered, whether they made the poll or not.

Character Of The Week: Lull-carae- Just Another Day For Lullasy

This weeks decision for COTW was very tough. It was never in any doubt who would get the nod, but choosing which picture was the tricky part. Lull-carae has been on a role this week, posting 4 pictures this week that I could have done this post on, whether it be for reasons of lighting, posing, effects, symbolism, but in the end I decided to go with this one, because it just ties everything that I mentioned together very nicely. You have the dark and moody lighting (something which Lull has made somewhat of a trademark), the laid back pose (which is simple but I give props for actually making the arms/ under-arms work, which isn’t always as easy as you’d think), the tired expression, the discarded chains and shackles and the blood splattered bandages and scars that the character supports, it all tells a really interesting story just from this one picture. And that is never a bad thing.

Open Critique Day #18

Just to remind everyone, if this is to stay around, then everybody needs to contribute. I would like to keep this going past #2o!

As for how this goes, you post a work of yours, finished or WIP (aka work in process, for those who are new to abbreviations), and then others give you critiques on your work.  I do not mind if you post the occasional non-HM picture or piece of writing. Just make sure that you only post pictures that are your own design and not any that copyrighted or based off of copyrighted characters.

Also, if you post a work, it is highly recommended that you also give someone else a critique.
