Ok, so now that the forums are back up, lets get things back up again.
First up, here’s a few redesigns of some other ‘machiners characters that I did as part of art trades on deviantart whilst the forums were down.

Anyway, during the forum down-time, I started to watch a lot of the anime’s that have been on my “to watch” list. And that in turn means I’m gonna be doing anime style stuff for a bit. Starting with this.
Ai Yukana is a young apprentice in the Honotamashi magic house. The magic houses take in magically skilled children and tutor them in the use of their chosen field of magic. There are numerous magic houses, each with a different ideology and teaching style, and students chose the house they become an apprentice to according to which house they find most suitable. Each member of a house displays that houses signature mark, so as to identify them to other members. Homotamashi is known for its fiery passion and strong code of ethics. Its members tend to specialise in battle magic and it is one of the for most schools in combating dark magic. Ai specialises in a branch of magic known as Enhancement Magic, which allows the user to increase their physical attributes (strength, speed, stamina, senses, reflexes, co-ordination and dexterity), which is a one of the more common forms of combat magic. As with all types of magic, there are levels of power for such spells and the increase a spell provides depends on its power, as does the time the effect lasts. The more powerful the spell, the greater the increase it provides, but the shorter the effects last. This form of magic allows her to wield her Onokai (joinable dual headed axes) with devastating power an precision.

Soul Eater- ResonanceHikari Senshin is one of the most famous members of the Horotamashi magic house. Known for her powerful Soul Magic, she is one of Horotamashi’s instructors and it’s foremost Dark Hunter (the term for those wizards and witches of a house that are tasked with combating dark magic and dark magical creatures). Her Soul Magic allows her to read the souls of those around her, sensing their intentions and, in combat, allowing her to predict their every move. At its fullest extent, this strand of magic can be used to reverse the effects of magical abilities, making magical users vulnerable to types of magic they normally wouldn’t be vulnerable to (for example Pyromancers would be burned by their own flames, were-as normally they would be unaffected). This makes it one of the most powerful known magics and an exceptionally hard magic to study and perfect. There are very few alive who have studied it and even fewer who are known to have perfected it.
One of Ai’s fellow apprentices at Hinotamashi, Kurayami is what is known as a Dark Born. His parents were powerful Dark Wizards and Kuriyama himself was conceived under a powerful Black Spell. However, his parents were eventually killed by Dark Hunters and Kuriyama was taken in by the Hinotamashi master and raised by its wizards. Though he acts the fool much of the time and is known for his pranks and nonchalant attitude, Kuriyama is a very powerful wizard. Because of his parentage and the circumstances of his conception, he is naturally talented at what most would call Black Magic, something which he found out accidentally when he was young and was harshly punished for by the master. However, his preferred magic is Shadow Magic, a form of sublimation magic that allows the user to blend into darkness, effectively becoming invisible in low light and teleport through shadows. He keeps his eyes hidden because they are incredibly sensitive to light. His life ambition is to become a Dark Hunter and show the world that he isn’t destined to become his parents.
