No problems. Your Black Knight has a very Warduke-vibe from the 1980s Dungeons & Dragons toys. Come to think of it… that skull on the shield looks awfully familiar. Hmmm… paging Mr. Hebert. Wink

Forgive my hibernation, people. The winner for the black knight is Ubiquitous Pixel! Congrats on that amazing work. Good job on everybody’s entry. Next up if you still got it, “The White Rook/Tower”.

It was hard to personify the rook, because really what is a rook? We don’t have rooks today! I had to google it… I think these turned out ok

The rook may be intended to represent a siege tower. The word rook itself, however, is derived from a Persian (?) word which means chariot. (If i remember correctly…) :)

Right you are, prswirve. Chariots were armored, contained archers, etc., and may have sometimes been decorated to look like stone. Talk about your psychological warfare. “The land here hates us, sir! The castle’s outbuildings themselves ride into battle–must be made of local stone?”
(WHACK, thud) “I’ll not have superstitious cowards in the ranks!”
“He was right. I got shot by one, General.”
    “An arrow?”
“An arrow from a moving stone outbuilding, General.”
    “#$%^&*”
Mistranslations from one language to the next led the meaning through stone, etc.

–No one has seen the riders of White’s rooks and lived. They shoot from their perches as soon as they line up the shots.

Of course, no one is eager to be directly in front of or behind them either!

**Only one kind of fish looks brutish enough to be as powerful as a rook but still looks diverse enough to be traveling in exactly four directions at an instant’s notice. It’s a matter of how you look at it. Or how your eyes point. Oh, whatever.

I would guess that we’re doing the black rooks next. Since it’s been two weeks, I’ll go ahead and show mine.
Black rooks are kind of important for capturing pawns. This one keeps a net handy.

So four pieces remain, the Black and White Kings and Queens… .. So i guess you guys may enter any of the four to finish the whole set. :)

@WMD: Interesting notion, looks like Scotia’s troops on the way north from Rome.

Hi, diddle-dee-dee, a bathyscaphe for me–
. . . you need a strong leader for this kind of bunch. The White King could never have gotten this battle started without being willing to throw his weight around–and use some mental, uh, prowess?
