Thanks, HK. None of these should be particularly new to you, so my apologies to all of the UGO members who have seen these before.

And many thanks to you, Kaylin. Absorbing Man is secretly one of my favorites, so he gets some special attention. But don't tell my other characters or they might get jealous!

    Alias: “Acid” Raines
    Real Name: Frank Raines
    Genre: Supervillain
Powers/Special Skills: composed of highly caustic acid, able to burn and melt through touch
    Special Weapons/Tools/Armor: none
    Affiliations: none
    Past Aliases: none
    Status: at large
    Bio:
Frank was a worker in a plant that produced industrial chemicals. One day, a fellow worker was goofing around with him and accidentally knocked Frank into one of the vats full of a quick-burning acid. Frank should have been killed almost instantly, but instead his body went through a powerful and dangerous change. He became composed of the acid and turned a dark sickly green while his hair went stark white. Now his very touch can burn through metal. The change drove him partially insane and he turned to crime, taking the nickname “Acid” Raines.

I think uploading them to something like Photobucket is the right way to go. It makes me nervous to think that they're all going to be here and if something happens to me or the site or whatever … ugh. Some big dedicated photo hosting site is, I think, far and away the most prudent way to go.

Luckily a very selfless friend of mine went through the torturous process of copying the majority of my pics onto a Photobucket account for me not too long ago. So most of them are already there and I can do the rest as I go.

    Alias: Adapter
    Real Name: Franklin Evans
    Genre: Superhero
Powers/Special Skills: able to mimic the powers of other superhumans
Special Weapons/Tools/Armor: limited-strength armor and helmet
    Affiliations: none
    Past Aliases: none
    Status: active
    Bio:

Franklin may never have known that he’d been born with his mutant ability, had it not been for an otherwise normal day at work. He was a teller at a Caligo bank that was, without warning, invaded by the mighty supervillain Mastodon. When the destructively strong criminal forced his way into the bank and demanded the contents of the vault, Franklin was suddenly flushed with the feeling of immense power. He was chosen by Mastodon to open the vault and when he grabbed the wheel to open the door, it broke off in his hands. Always a pretty cool-headed and quick-thinking fellow, Franklin realized that he had somehow taken on Mastodon’s super strength, and so he courageously swung the wheel around and smashed it into the villain’s head, sending him flying across the bank and out into the street. Stunned enough to think better of going back in, Mastodon fled the scene, and a new hero was born in Franklin. After several visits from other superheroes, Franklin realized that his body would adopt each of their powers for a limited time. He created a costume combining Kevlar and reinforced plastic and took the alias Adapter.

    Alias: Adrena
    Real Name: Veronica Gables
    Genre: Superhero
Powers/Special Skills: superhuman “fight or flight” abilities, most notably speed, strength, and endurance
    Special Weapons/Tools/Armor: none
    Affiliations: Dynamos Alpha Red Team
    Past Aliases: none
    Status: active
    Bio:
Throughout her childhood, Veronica’s parents wondered why she was such an angry, violent child. While she never hurt anyone, she was known to break objects, mostly her toys, when she got mad or excited. They endured it for a few years, but finally they took Veronica in to see a doctor.
What they found out amazed them. The doctor excitedly told them that Veronica had a condition that had never before been documented in medical history. Her adrenal glands seemed to produce 5 times the amount of adrenaline into her system as a normal human, which increased her “fight or flight” instincts and abilities by 5 times as well. This meant that any time Veronica’s heart beat at an above normal rate, she gained super strength, speed, and endurance.
Unfortunately for her parents, Veronica was an angrier than normal child. The doctor prescribed her depressants, which seemed to keep her calm most of the time. In high school, she seemed to be able to lead a normal life. However, she befriended a young man by the name of Dave Madison, and the two began dating. When Dave revealed to her that he was a mutant with the ability to control gravity, Veronica tearfully admitted the same. Her parents had told her that she was the only person in the world with superpowers, and that she must always suppress her abilities. Angry and inspired by her boyfriend, Veronica secretly stopped taking her medication, and found that now, at the age of 18, she could control her emotions much better. After graduation, she and Dave ran off and became a crime-fighting couple, until 6 years later they were asked to join Alpha Red.

    Alias: Adumbro

    Real Name: Chris Irving

    Genre: Superhero

Powers/Special Skills: control of darkness and shadows

    Special Weapons/Tools/Armor: none

Affiliations: Night Terror; Children of Villains support group; The Junior Defenders

    Other Aliases: none

    Status: active

    Bio:

Chris is the son of Calvin Irving, who is the supervillain Night Terror. Chris never could get used to his father’s nefarious ways and, unbeknownst to his predominantly evil family, sought out some sort of outlet to vent his frustration. He found it in the form of COV, a support group dedicated to the children of supervillains. In the weekly meetings, Chris was finally able to talk about how unhappy he was pretending to be happy that his dad was a super-powered criminal. The positive feedback he got from the group and the knowledge that he wasn’t the only kid who felt that way brought new life to Chris. He had inherited his father’s power over darkness, but now he knew that he didn’t have to turn to a life of evil like his dad and older brothers. Instead, he began moonlighting along with several other group members as teen hero Adumbro. In fact, the loosely formed team eventually became officially organized and, taking after their idols, called themselves the Junior Defenders.

    Alias: Aegir
    Real Name: Oskar Eriksson
    Genre: Supervillain
Powers/Special Skills: super strength, durability, stamina; hydrokinesis
Special Weapons/Tools/Armor: suit containing vial of seawater
    Affiliations: none
    Other Aliases: none
    Status: at large
    Bio:
From an early age, Oskar always dreamed of power. He wanted to be the most powerful person in the world, and every night he prayed for such a position. When his prayers were not answered by the Christian God, Oskar turned to the deities of his ancestors, those present in Norse mythology. He was heard by the trickster god Loki, who appeared to him in a dream. Loki granted Oskar the powers of Aegir, the old Norse god of the sea. The only condition was that to wield such power, Oskar would have to be within inches of the ocean.
Then Loki told Oskar that if he were to destroy all beings as mighty as him, he would then be the most powerful man in the world. So, Oskar, taking the alias Aegir, fashioned himself a suit containing a vial of ocean water and, with his new super strength and ability to control water, he set out, tracking down and challenging every superhuman he encountered. Sometimes he wins, and sometimes he loses, and sometimes he winds up at the Superhuman Containment Facility, but he is relentless in his quest for power. His travels have taken him to the United States, where his search continues.

    Alias: Aerohawk

    Real Name: Oliver Johnson

    Genre: Superhero

Powers/Special Skills: feathery wings allowing flight

    Weapons/Tools/Armor: bladed throwing ring

    Affiliations: Ornithia

    Other Aliases: Avirzus (“The Thief”)

    Status: active

    Bio:

Oliver was a young man with little direction. Never one to worry about his studies, Oliver lived for the ocean. When he had tried his hat at college and then a blue collar career, he one day decided that his true calling was to roam the seas as a wandering sailor. He worked long enough to save up for a moderate-size sailboat, stocked up on as many provisions as he could fit on it, and bade farewell to dry land. For days he sailed across the vast ocean until he came upon a raging hurricane that in his haste to leave he had not researched. His little boat was thrown around while he clung on for dear life. The mast broke off and he was skewered in the leg, his femoral artery cut. He passed out as his boat sank beneath the waves.

For days, his consciousness surfaced in brief, confusing images of strange people surrounding him. When he finally came fully awake, he found himself in a bed in a room that seemed at the same time to be both ancient and incredibly advanced. His leg was wrapped in bandages. Oliver soon learned that he had been rescued by an unknown race of beings known as Ornithians, who would have been human were it not for the huge feathery wings sprouting out of their backs. The Ornithians lived, secluded from civilization, on a small island. Oliver learned that the huge amount of blood he had lost had been replaced by the blood of one of Ornithia’s citizens. His life had been saved, but he began almost immediately to show signs of growing his own pair of wings.

For his life, the king of Ornithia demanded that Oliver repay him by marrying Ornithia’s ill-tempered princess. At first Oliver was glad to do so, but after a few days spent with her, he realized that he would be doomed to a life of misery. In the dark of night, Oliver put his new wings to the test and escaped the island. He finally made it back to the U.S., nearly dead from exhaustion, and established himself as the superhero Aerohawk in Tucker’s Point, a coastal city on the east coast. Many times hunters from Ornithia have arrived to escort Oliver back to the island country, calling him “Avirzus” because they believed he had stolen the gift of life and flight that they had granted him, but thankfully Oliver has made many friends in the hero world, and has so far been able to fight them off every time.

    Real Name: Jack North

    Genre: Superhero

    Powers/Special Skills: none

    Special Weapons/Tools/Armor: jetpack

    Affiliations: The 50

    Other Aliases: North Carolina

    Status: active

    Bio:

Jack was always a tinkerer. He had a profound knack for taking apart machines and tweaking them to make them much more efficient. He was also an avid admirer of the Wright Brothers, and dreamed of expounding on their flying machine designs to levels unseen by the world. And so he began work in his modest North Carolina barn/workshop on a jetpack that could be worn by him. Neighbors would wonder what exactly it was that rocketed through the night sky across the countryside in the surrounding counties. When Jack felt that he had perfected his design, he announced himself to the world as the amazing Aeronaut, rocket-propelled wonder of the skies!

Jack would later audition to be a member of the national super team called The 50, composed of a superhero from each of the United States. He served as North Carolina’s hero for ten years before stepping down to return to his quiet farm.

    Alias: Aftermath

    Real Name: Finn O’Henry

    Genre: Supervillain

    Powers/Special Skills: superstrength, durability

    Special Weapons/Tools/Armor: none

    Affiliations: none

    Other Aliases: none

    Status: at large

    Bio:

Finn was a construction worker, and the very definition of a man’s man. He was an alpha male bully who saw his blatant machismo and impressive upper body strength as a sign of superiority over others. During down time, the men on his crew would engage in various contests of strength and pain tolerance, which Finn would always win. Each of his co-workers secretly hated him, but feared ostracism under the assumption that everyone else liked him.

In a just world, a bully like Finn O’Henry would have been kicked by the big boot of karma. Instead, his physical imposition was exponentially augmented when one day, at the control of a jackhammer, he punched through a layer of concrete and unearthed an odd, glowing crystal. This crystal was but a tiny shard of a much larger entity at the Earth’s core known as the Power Infinitum. When he touched the gem, Finn became a huge, hulking giant with incalculable strength. With this sudden power came the instant desire to show it off, which Finn did by attacking and fighting any superhuman he could find, no matter what their intentions may be. Heroes and villains alike can’t stand the indestructible force that calls himself Aftermath.

    Special Weapons/Tools/Armor: robotic legs

Affiliations: CIA, Federal Agency for Superhuman Tasking (FAST)

    Other Aliases: K-207

He had mastered nearly every form of martial arts, was a deadeye with a firearm, and could infiltrate even the most secure of locations. But his fast-track career was cut short when on a mission he was betrayed and nearly killed by another agent, K-221. Isaac was caught in an explosion that blew off both of his legs. Only through sheer determination was he able to drag himself free of the chaos and be rescued via helicopter and returned to headquarters.

Knowing what a debt of gratitude the nation owed Agent K-207, the President authorized the commencement of Project Phoenix, originally intended for soldiers wounded in war, but perfect for a candidate like Isaac. In the procedure, Isaac was a given a new set of steel, robotic legs which granted him greatly augmented running speed along with very convenient compartment space for weapons and gadgets. Isaac was given the new codename Agent America and placed on the Federal Agency for Superhuman Tasking, a government-sponsored team of superhumans.
