Hey everybody!
So I discovered HeroMachine 3 maybe a week or 10 days ago and have just been obsessed with making character portraits with it since.
In this thread I will post my work, in chronological order.
This buxom spellsword was my first portrait. Pretty basic.

That same day, I did this orkish street-samurai. Tried to manipulate the basic body parts to look like he was running.

OfflineThat was your first day? It took me ages to start experimenting with poses! ![]()

The next day, I did this high-fashion heist. Utilized a lot of different cloak and shoulder pieces to make a pretty complex dress, as well as a non-standard pose. To this day, this is still my favorite – or right up there anyway.

I started this character and finished her the next day,a bookish looking Mechanic Chick. Pretty standard, but was largely exploring companion pieces and mech stuff…

The next day, I channeled this portrait from somewhere. Did it in about 45-50 minutes. I discovered the Alpha channel changing in this one ![]()

This is actually a portrait of the character I am currently playing in a Pathfinder Campaign. He is a Qadiran Dervish-Dancer Free-hand Fighter/Duelist. Out of character, the other players call him "Slap-chop", because he'll use his free hand to disarm or trip, and attack with his scimitar.

The next day I was looking for inspiration and just wanted to mess around with making something mean looking. Ended up with this Shiva-armed Drider.

Continuing the trend of making characters from actual campaigns, I made this Ulfen Barbarian, based off of a character one of the guys in my group played.

Also based off of a previous character from my group earlier campaign, here we have a sneaky looking elven artillery guy. As you all know, there is no sideways facing body or clothing, so I was pretty pleased with how this turned out.

This latest installment came as a request from a guy on a shadowrun forum to do a portrait for his character. An albino ork, throwing adept, self-described "Texican".

I don't know why, HeroMachine just speaks to me
I've always liked to draw anyway, but HeroMachine is like a short-cut, no boring line work necessary, just start layering!

Wow!
Just, wow!
You are off to a phenomenal start! Everything looks great, but I especially love the cigarette flicking orc.
Thanks, Weilyn. I like your work as well!
Nice start. Keep on going. Welcome in the forum.

OfflineWow, everything you've made already is fantastic and I can see that if this is the quality of only a week of experimenting, we're going to be seeing even greater things to come. So Welcome to the Forum!

Offlinereally great start ,and quick development.I have been using hm3 for about 4 months and I learned leaos and bounds simply from looking at others work and asking"how the hell did they do that?"It is a question that will open many doors to the things you can do here!great concepts and I will guarentee you will advance quickly!
Thanks again for the positive reinforcement everyone!

You could use some work on layer order and use of hands, otherwise really great stuff.
Yeah, looking back at some of the early ones, there are some things that bother me here and there but I think it's worth preserving their flawed states
I finished this one a couple days ago, but it is another avatar request from a forum member and I wanted to be sure they were happy with it before I posted a final version. In the original draft she had long skirts and was barefoot, which I kind of liked more than the pants and boots, even though it's not necessarily a practical representation of the character, but ahh well. The customer is always right!

Here's the results of my latest avatar request. I actually dabbled (ever so slightly) in highlights and masking with this one, which admittedly has made me want to go back and revise some works… I got kind of lazy with the background but, what are ya gonna do? Also, it was my first dwarf (non-standard human proportions) so that was a fun challenge.
