He ruled for several years treating his people with the utmost respect and making them happy. But soon, a horrible drought struck his planet, and famine spread. People became angry, violent even. Enter Red. She gathered up a rebellion army, assuming she could rule better than any of those who held the Karatu name could. Unfortunately for her, Kzylisar saw through this little plan of hers and had her banished to Earth before she could enact any of her plans.

Although Luka was born in Germany, he didn't stay there very long before being kidnapped by scientists due to the mysterious circumstances surrounding his birth. His mother, Mia Schröder, had been hunted by the German government since she was a teenager due to her ability to learn any secret through her power of insight. Then she met Luka's father, Virgil Simpson, an American with ties to several German crime syndicates. When the government discovered she was pregnant, a manhunt started and Virgil Simpson was in the wind. Then the scientists heard about Mia and her unique ability, and they wanted to know whether or not it would be passed down to him. So, on the day of Luka's birth, the scientists (whose names have not been disclosed) chased Mia down, threatening to kill her if she didn't hand over the boy. She did as she was told; she was killed anyway. Throughout the next couple of days, scientists tested the baby for his mother's specific genetic abnormality that led to her power….it wasn't found, but a whole bunch of others were. Abnormalities that led the scientists to believe that Luka would be the perfect astronaut. He required no suit and could potentially live for a thousand years. They trained him until his sixteenth birthday when they blasted him into space without so much as a good luck. Luckily for him, he survived and landed on a faraway planet, that happened to be inhabited by a friendly alien species. They took him in as their own and he is now a patrolman for their little section of the universe. Recently he ran into another woman from Earth called the Space Runner, with whom he has become infatuated.

As a teenager, Kevin Perez absolutely loved gladiator fighting. And one of his favorite fighters: Abaku. But once the Neo-Gladiator defeated Abaku in the semi-final round of the championships of 2070, Kevin Perez swore that he would take him down. He trained with the world renowned trainer Kai Le for six years before entering into gladiator fighting. Two years after that he killed the Neo-Gladiator in battle.

Although Abaku was born in South Africa, his parents moved him to Beijing China when he was just 3 years old. When he turned 6 he began training in various martial arts styles; and he was something of a prodigy with all of them. When he turned 15 his abilities activated. After that he remained undefeated in any contest he entered. All of these victories led Abaku to believe he was unable to be defeated. So he entered the Gladiator contests with the incorrect assumption that he would be fine. His parents pleaded with him not too, but his lust for money and fame combined with his naturally show-off type personality led to his entering into the contests anyway. He won for several years before finally losing to, and dying in the process of fighting the Neo-Gladiator.

The Windmaster works as something of a mentor to other people with wind powers. He bears no allegiance to the side of good or bad though. He mentor any and everybody and then lets them decide how best to use their powers. The Tempest has him to thank for her marvelous wind control abilities.
