First let me introduce you to the Red Harpy, a mythical creature turned crimefighter. She was born with the characteristic bird wings and strong talons for feet and, as her flying high requires it, an enhanced vision that includes night-vision which helps her hunt the criminals that she can find both flying far from her and those who walk street level.
The second hero I'll be presenting is Shooting Stars: this sexy and tricksy lady that was gifted with a cosmic power that envelops her with a skin tight energy armor and two high-tech guns that feed from the same power to, what else, shoot stars.
Third in a row comes Merit. Without any superpowers or the wealth of a playboy millionaire to give him an edge in the crimefighting career anyone would develop an inferiority complex, but not Merit. He made his goal to become the best crimefighter with only his peak human trained skills, not even gadgets apart from thin kevlar reinforced costume. Watch him boast his victory.
And here's my first supervillainess: Revival. A criminal mind before her time, all her potential seemed lost until she was revived from the grave thanks to modern technollogy, she can now shine as a brilliant mastermind in a world that can finally… appreciate her talent? Only her returning back to life was other person's prowess, she's the mind behind the discovery of the "ghost energy" that feeds her floating far-reaching arms and her virtual phasing/solid hands.
In the tradition of Aquagirl, Marrina or Namorita, I created Coral Barrier: she has aspects of all the previous ones and some original of her own. She's also an alien from an aquatic planet instead of an Atlantean and her powers are similar to those of Sue Storm in that she can create invisible barriers that are more like the constructs of Green Lanter in exchange for noty being able to turn invisible herself. Oh, and since she's both a creature from the abyssal stages of the ocean and also a woman that can live with her fellow superheros she can stand ANY kind of atmospheric pressure (from none to all). She just needs some oxygen.

Okay new hero: Backfire is part of the pandemia of energy redirectors, one of the most overused superpowers ever. As pretty much every superhero with this gift, Backfire can absorb, store, redirect and channel energy based attacks that have been used on him. He is really fond of his "my-arms-are-a-pipe" kind of fighting, absorbing energy with one hand and shooting it out (with no degradation) from the other. As it is not the most reliable superpower ever, he also packs his handy raygun.
And new supervillain: Doctor Schemer is your classic mastermind: gifted I.Q., power armor with energy weapons and holographic computers mounted and also a generator of kinetic barriers. He has a nice view of his would-be domains from his orbital lab-base in space, as you can see.
Bve-Farr, the Extinguishment. With such a name it's a given that he's not one of the bad guys. He's an intergallactic menace and the last of his kind… by his own merits. See, he believes he's the avatar of extinction or something like that and, in his crusade to erradicate all life from the universe he had to start somewhere. As it is common in super-hero comic-books, his grandious agenda doesn't seem to scare away other super-villains, who use to tag along with him in super-meanie teams.
Knucklehead is a bio-engineered hybrid with genes belonging to multiple sources: namely animals with tough skins like Rhinos and Elephants but also beasts like Bears and big Apes and some you'd never guess. The result is a behemoth that can unleash mindless destruction while his fellow super-villains can concentrate on more cerebral tasks.
Roadie is my first take on the speedster type. But speed isn't everything he's good at: he is somewhat talented with music, although he's no superstar (he IS A ROADIE)… wait, that's no power that would give him an edge in the crime-fighting business, or is it? Oh, but he has yet another superpower, he has an incredible superstrenght he can only access when carrying or lifting up to 2.5 tons of weight. Too bad he can access as much power in explosive strenght, but with good tactics and all the time his superspeed can grant him…
Now for the deputized kind of crime fighters: beware the Patroller! A tech based pioneer operative of the police force of his city, he can use his dynamic flight harness with next to no worry for altitude, wind or spatial restraints, and, as flight is cybernetically aided he can focus on brawling and shooting with his baton and revolver combo. His helmet and visor are linked to secure police databases and can hack other sources for crime-busting purposes and access to usual-suspects files and all sorts of recognitions.
