Well I am new to the forums so forgive me any indiscretions. I’ve been using HeroMachine since version 1 for drawing my Champions characters. In the future I will be posting characters from my Champions game as well as my Dark Champions campaign here. Feel free to comment or critique the characters, I love feedback. I have only recently been submitting some of my creations to the contests and hope to continue to do so as time allows. I want to take the opportunity to thank Jeff for this great tool!

Ironically I can actually draw a little, but this is far easier since I lack the motivation (and talent) to really do my characters justice. That and the fact that I am colorblind seemed to inhibit my continued progression as an artist. Here is a sample of a character I actually drew (basically testing the upload feature).

    Thanks,

Here is the character above (Quick) designed in HeroMachine. In the campaign he kind of morphed from the character above to a combination Speedster/Gadgeteer. Which is why he has pouches now. The only tricky part of this pic was his lightning insignia/sash. I used several diamonds set next to each other to give the lightning effect.

Here is a pic of one of my oldest characters, Wildcat, who has been around in some way shape or form since 1982. The first is a pic done in HM 2.0 (I think) and then doctored a little with PaintShopPro. The second, is one that I did recently. No tricky stuff at all on this one, just a little masking here and there.

And now to plug my latest contest entry. Wildcat’s teammate and resident energy projector of Freedom Inc. Quasar!

Back from HM 2 (again with some help of PSP)…

    The more recent version…

And finally the one I submitted for the contest (I am just now incorporating backgrounds and Zyping into my creations so forgive me if they are kind of pedestrian).

~Edit: My Bad, I hadn’t read Hammerknight’s post prior to putting the pic up. If you want to see it search through the contests.
~Edit2: And after re-reading I am putting it back in…LOL

Incidentally, if the costumes are REALLY 80s/90s that is because that is when they were originally done. I am really not all that creative…so sue me.

Here are a few more from Freedom Inc…

    Powerhouse, the resident Brick.

    Mindbender, the team Mentalist.

    Tempest, master of weather.

    Streak, the group Speedster.

Syfon, the power stealing wife of Powerhouse.

    Siren, mistress of sonics.

    Angel, the high flying healer.

I figure you can probably tell that many of them are an homage to a certain group of mutated malcontents. Like I said previously, I’m not all that creative.

Thank you Hammerknight, I have several decades of material. I just need to figure out when to post what. Having gone through your thread I can tell you that I am in awe. I knew that this was a powerful tool but you and several other creators have taken it to an art form in itself.

Taking on previously done concepts and doing something different with them is definitely creative. Heck, I “borrow” ideas all the time. I look forward to seeing more characters.

Here are a couple of my Dark Champions characters. We play a “Cinematic”, no-powers, street level, gritty campaign. I did these quite some time ago and they could all stand to be updated.

    Talion
A one man war on crime whose motto is “An Eye For An Eye”.
    Talion.jpg

    Ace
Street level knife fighter and parkour practitioner who has had it with gangbangers.
    Ace.jpg

    Stone
Former outlaw biker enforcer turned brutal vigilante.
    Stone.jpg

    Orion
Former Army Ranger who uses his talent at archery to battle criminals.
    Orion.jpg

    Hair-Trigger
A cop who is fed up with the turnstile justice system.
    HairTrigger.jpg

    Purgatory
An Ex-FBI Agent and Religion expert who seeks to purge the world of evil.
    Purgatory.jpg

    Edge
A master level Kenjutsu practitioner who turned to vigilantism to reign in the Yakuza.
