Nothing is known at this time of James's parents. He has a younger sister, Rosemary, who is the superheroine Echo and possesses a similar ability. It is assumed that one or both of their parents wielded a similar power. Regardless, their parents are nowhere to be found, least of all by their children.

James attended Caligo Central High School, easily concealing his talent from his peers and foster parents. He discovered that he could create and fire off blasts of light and sound energy when he went through puberty. For most of his life, James was content to amuse and entertain himself with this power, practicing his aim in the deep forest near his home. He kept mostly to himself.

James went to college at Malachi University and, upon graduation, got a job as an airplane mechanic at the Ford City airport. This job came with the bonus of getting to fly for free a certain number of times per year. On one of these trips, the plane on which James was a passenger was hijacked by Muslim radicals, and he was forced to unveil his power to the public, neutralizing and apprehending the three terrorists. When he was praised for his heroism, James decided to use his unique ability for the greater good as the superhero Energy Arrow. He gained immediate attention and, after changing his alias to Archer, joined the second version of the Dynamos, Team Alpha Red. Over the next few years, he has become the team's leader.

Bio: Natalie was an avid mountain climber who made it a hobby to hike a section of the Appalachian Trail every year. On the year of the first X-13 attacks, she was in the coldest portion, the northernmost part in Maine. Surrounded by snow and ice, Natalie was changed into a being of hard frozen water. Now her living ice form is able to freeze any moisture in which she comes in contact, including the humidity in the air. She can also withstand subarctic temperatures, though she is still able to survive in warmer climates.

I agree, but Ares is on a team with other god-like heroes in similar, but varying colored suits. I think I reserved the color red for Hephaestus, being the fire god and all.
