I attempted to export and save to diskette to no avail. No saving to diskette before export, right?

Can you UNexport through the load function or some other way? I change my mind a lot--too much for my available memory.

Someone asked me had I lost my mind, and I replied that it was still at the other end of my eyestalks. They grumbled about signing the non-disclosure forms. Such a useless behavior, even for a h- um, a person with a lot to do.

So what you're saying is, you tried to export a character and couldn't? What exactly was the problem with it? I'll try and help if I can.

…I have no idea what you mean by "UNexport". Can you clarify that question?

I got to the option, chose jpg and it froze up. Unfortunately my library of work may be gone already. Choosing the option load shows a blank list now. I also tried to direct saving to a folder and couldn't make that happen. (an earlier hm version allowed that)

by UNexport: after it is a jpg, how do I put it back in to improve it?

and thanx--I was beginning to feel ignored, but I'm new to forums and blogs, perhaps I posted this in a bad spot?

OH--and do you have to keep it on your computer after it's in Photobucket? (assuming I ever get one there.) Mine is a sad tale--I was an innovative programmer in several languages based on DOS and was too poor to study Windows when I had the time. Picking up things like Excel was easy, since I'd written a spreadsheet program before . . . I feel like maybe I used to be an Olympic-level sprinter from the 1600's suddenly having a vision of Chicago O'Hare airport. Or should I say Heathrow for you? :^J

People's saves do disappear occasionally – it's usually because of a Flash update or a faulty virus checker. If you haven't got your characters saved anywhere else, you'll just have to remake them.

A good strategy to stop that happening is to use the Text Save function – click on Save, then Text, copy the text onto a Word document or Notebook file, and save the document. You can then use the "Load from text" function to load it back onto HM later.

If Export isn't working for you, try using a screencapture. Go to widescreen mode, printscreen, and paste into an image editing program like MS Paint. Then you can crop it and save it.

Hope some of that was helpful!

Edit: Oh, and no – you don't have to keep an image on your computer once it's on Photobucket. My computer crashed, deleted all my files, and when I looked on Photobucket they were all there, safe and sound.Smile

WOOHOO! One file was still in cache as an attempted download when I was interrupted last month. I am now on phbkt and attempting to learn how to post link to old file and junk pic that my wife thought was funny.

If you want to put a picture on this site or enter it in a contest, and it is on photobucket, you need to use a direct link. If you are in your album, hold the mouse over the picture, a box will come up with options. Click the text just to the right of where it says "Direct link", and it should say "copied". Paste wherever you want to share the picture. On this site it should come up as an image after you submit the reply. Why don't you try it with that "junk pic" for practice?

Kaylin I just wanted to thank you for stepping up and helping out here, especially considering I have been busy this past week battling a computer virus on my PC which I "Just" cleared out the last vestige of it. So way to go helping out the community, Keep up the great work!!

Testing, 1-2-3!
Some hapless dimensionally displaced travelers thought they were far and away from finding signs of life when they found a stuffed toy. The pupils were about a foot across--panic ensued. . .even after they realized it wasn't alive and even the snot was fake. . . can anyone guess what I made the head out of?

Thanks Kaldath!

And Herr D, that is so cool! I know you used legs for the body and the legs, and those cool bendy arms for the ears, but unless it's that rag-type-thing from ItemRight-Miscellaneous, I have no idea what you used for the head. Oh – or is it ears?

Pelvis, stretchy arms and a couple of patterned insignias. Also it is quite cool.

You know what the fellow said – in Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace – and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock.

thx for the props, peeps. Vampyrist, very good! Upside-down skeleton pelvis gave me multislit nostrils as a base. A great advantage when doing ugly-cute.
