I'm writing a story that has trolls in it. I haven't quite decided how to describe them yet. In poking around, I find that people have lots of ideas about how trolls look -- more diverse ideas than you generally find for, say, elves. (You don't need to rush off and find me a picture of a unique elf. I know they are out there -- but if you asked 20 people to describe the first thing they thought of when you said "elf," I suspect you'd get more responses that were similar to each other than if you asked 20 people to describe what they first thought of when they heard "troll, but not the Internet kind.")

And then I thought it would be fun to see how much variation we could come up with in depicting trolls. Big or little, pointy or potato-shaped, evil or friendly, evil AND friendly, whatever.

Anyone in? :)

My take on a Troll, a definitely not friendly, big pointy troll which is of the more bestial in nature variety.

This is the model of troll I'm leaning toward at the moment. It's inspired by trolls from both the movie Willow and the children's cartoon David the Gnome. (The cartoon gnomes are much more comedic than mine, though.) At first I had it in a black/gray color scheme, but I felt like it lacked something. I think this coloring works better.

That is because of the new rules of the forum. The copyright rules were being pushed to far. When you say that a character is based on a copyrighted character, it is no longer allowed and will be removed without warning.
