The latest happenings on all things HeroMachine.

Gotta Clear This Up

There seems to be a misunderstanding about who does the reviews. While Jeff takes care of the site and the regular posts, I (Andy aka McKnight57) write and post all of the reviews. There seem to be a few comments to these reviews that are addressing Jeff. Just wanted to be clear on that. I'm not annoyed so much as I honestly don't know if he's reading all of the comics that are being reviewed here.

This Ain't Your Daddy's Marvel

Today begins a new era in Marvel Comics. A renumbering and relaunching of some of Marvel's greatest titles starts right here and NOW! The biggest relaunches start in a few months with titles like FF (a substitute team), Fantastic Four, Iron Man, the flagship title Uncanny Avengers, All-New X-Men, Deadpool, X-Men Legacy (starring Xavier's son, Legion) and Indestructible Hulk. Yeah, this is happening...

Update: nerd rage weekend

I apologize for the delay on the latest reviews. I've been reeling from massive nerd rage attacks, due to both the mid-season finale of Doctor Who and the end of Amazing Spider-Man, coming in December. That and two new part-time jobs are keeping me busy. I WILL have the next 2 reviews done by day's end California time.)

HM3: New Humanoids

That sounds like a really bad Marvel super hero group from the Seventies. But it's not! What it is, is a new Companion-Humanoids set now available for HeroMachine 3. Here are the new entries:

The first ten or so are redraws of items that are in the HeroMachine 2 humanoid set that I always meant to include, but forgot about. The remaining items were mostly Sketches of the Day that were easy to cut and paste into the program.

I've gotten a number of questions about why I am doing these when I said I was done adding new items for now. And the short answer is, because they were both easy and fun to do. The hard part is drawing the line art in the first place, and since that was already done for the majority of these, it was no big deal to add them in.

I'm now back in the self-imposed new-item-moratorium. I hope you enjoy these new additions!

Cops and Crowds

The Companion-Humanoids set has just been updated with the following items:

Let me know if you like the way the silhouetted group turned out. I wasn't sure what to do with Color2, so I drew in the skin areas. If it works well, I have probably four more silhouette groups I could give the same treatment to.

New pistol fronts and cityscapes

I've just updated Background-Cityscapes and ItemRight-Pistols with the following items:

Hopefully those will help with some of the more creative poses you all are trying to do.

Minor Victory!!!

So, it's true now that Rob "How Does He Have A Job" Liefeld has called it quits at DC. We no longer have to suffer through some of the worst art ever to be printed by a comic book company. It was apparently because of editorial battles. For more information, check out the Newsarama page: http://blog.newsarama.com/2012/08/22/rob-liefeld-quits-dc-the-0s-are-my-last-issues/

I'm mentally doing backflips, cartwheels and just generally jumping for joy! That's one less set of comics we have to endure Rob Liefeld working on.

HM3: dblade gets the boot

And now so do you, in Foot-Right-Male-Standard!

HM3: Check out the big brain on dblade

The following big brain is now available in Head-Male-Standard thanks to Mr. dblade:

In addition I've added this pair of cyborg eyes to Eyes-Standard, also from dblade:

HM3: More dblade visor goodness

You'll probably have to clear your browser cache to see it, but I've added dblade's cool sci-tech visor to the Headgear-Modern set in addition to the ones I put in yesterday:

Thanks again, dblade!

I've got some more dblade items to add, then I'll try to start on drawing contest prizes.
