Olympian Games: Tug of War

This one is fun! The idea is that some group of extra-dimensional omnipotent beings has pulled characters from across all the various publishing universes to compete in team-on-team tug of war contests. Here are the teams (Marvel and DC get multiple teams because, come on, Marvel and DC):

I don’t want to prejudice the vote, but you have to think the only thing Batman is contributing to DC Team One is some Bat Lubricant for the rope, because he’s got no business hanging out with those heavy hitters. As for their Team Two, the biggest question is who disintegrates whom before the starting gun sounds for the first match.

Anyway, have fun, and by all means let ‘er rip in the comments about which group you think has the edge, and which is going to get turned into paste by the opposition.

Oympian Games: Target Shooting Results

Thanks to everyone who voiced their opinion in the Olympian Games’ Target Shooting Competition! On behalf of Game-master Hammerknight, I am happy to report the following characters are our winners:

Gold Medal: Bullseye (Marvel)
Silver Medal: Green Arrow (DC)
Bronze Medal: Deadpool (Marvel)

I have to say, I’m a bit surprised to see Green Arrow take the silver. I just never thought of him as supernaturally gifted, or as having paranormal abilities like some of the others on the list, but apparently there’s a lot of love for normal humans out there. Go Team Homo Sapiens!

After four events, Marvel takes the lead with six medals, DC has five, and Dark Horse still gets the one token medal.

Thanks to everyone who voted! Now you know what to do if you see any of these guys in the middle of a fight — duck. Not that it’ll do you any good.

The ability to blow up stuff at a distance is key for most super-powered comics characters, and the mighty beings in charge of the multi-dimensional Olympian Games would surely not leave the testing of such a skill off the event roster. Olympian Games Swimming Results

Thanks to everyone who voiced their opinion in the Olympian Games’ Swimming Competition! On behalf of Main Man Hammerknight, I am happy to report the following characters are our winners:

Gold Medal: Aquaman (DC)
Silver Medal: Namor the Sub-Mariner (Marvel)
Bronze Medal: Blue from Hellboy (Dark Horse)

Finally a publisher other than DC or Marvel breaks onto the medal stand! After three events, Marvel and DC are still tied, with four medals apiece, while Dark Horse makes their first move with one.

I am happy for Aquaman since, let’s be honest, he doesn’t have a lot going for him other than swimming ability. I mean, can you imagine Namor bothering to talk with a flounder or a herring? I think not.

Olympian Games Gymnastics

The ancient Greek Gods have transported some of the most famous and capable super-hero characters from multiple universes to the site of the first ever Olympian Games, pitting the greatest champions ever conceived against each other in comic-book style competition! Hammerknight has tabulated your suggestions and the first event is now under way:

You can vote for up to three characters. Next Friday the votes will be counted, with the top-place finisher getting Gold, second place Silver, and third place Bronze. Make your arguments in the comments as to why you choose who you do, and may the most gymnastically gifted character win!

Olympian Introductions

Hammerknight has come up with what I think will be a very fun and interesting set of super-hero events which we’re calling “Olympia Games” (ahem). He’s put together an introductory poster describing what he has in mind (click to see it larger):

For those of you with problems getting to or viewing the poster, I’ll try to retype the verbiage. And mega THANKS to Hammerknight both for the great idea, and for running it, he IS the man!

The First Ever Comic Book Hero OLYMPIA GAMES!

Contestants:
You get to pick who you want to compete. Pick a hero from any Comic Book Publisher. Then all you have to do is post your choices in the comment section below as follows: Hero’s Name, Publisher, and the event you want to see them in.

The Events:

Gymnastics, Combat Tactical Course
Track and Field, 1000 mile Race
Swimming, 1000 mile Freestyle
Target Shooting, Combat Tactical Course
Tug-of-War, Five Person Team

After all the suggestions are made I, Hammerknight, will gather it all up and set up the events. With Tug-of-War being a five person team event, I will make the team-ups from the more suggested heroes, so if you can’t pick out five heroes for the team that you would like to see together, I am sure that other people will make some suggestions to help fill out the teams. Then we will post a Poll with the events and contestants listed. Then vote for who you would like to win the event.

Start making suggestions today and we will have the Voting start next Friday and post the winners the Friday after.
