Character Design Contest ♯125- Two Great Tastes

Ok, let's do a theme we haven't done in a while. For anyone who hasn't done a TGT challenge before, basically the idea is to take bits from two genres and mash them together to create a character. For example you could mash Sci-Fi and Western up to make a cyborg cowboy. In previous TGT contests I've given you guys a specific genre that you have to mash with others, but this time I'm gonna let you guys have free reign. You can mash up any of the following genres: Superhero, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Martial Arts, Western, Anime, Noir, Steampunk and Horror.

Oh and you can have the poll back now. I don't much feel like having to decide the winner on my own again.

As per usual, no limits on entries and the contest will close at midnight Saturday (blog time). Please read the contest rules before entering, have fun and good luck.

Rules for posts, contests, and challenges that I am hosting: Original characters only, no copyrighted characters, no characters based on copyrighted characters, no characters based on RPG’s or other games. The characters must be your own design and not based on any character that might be copyrighted in any way. I have the right to delete any post that I believe crosses this line without warnings. Only post characters that you have either created for this contest specifically or you know for certain have never been entered to a contest before. If you aren’t certain, don’t enter it, because I’m not going to go back through all of the contests and check.

  2. Film Noir/Crime Noir would count as a genre, right?

  3. @hawk007- Yeah, I guess so. I’ll add it to the list.

  4. What about War/ Sci Fi?

  5. @Cliff- Sci-fi is on the list but I don’t think war works with all of the other categories on the list. Using your example, you mix war and sci-fi and you just have a sic-fi soldier, so it just makes sci-fi. Mix anime and war it’s just an anime about a war, mix steampunk and war and it really depends on what sort of period of war you’re talking about. So I’ll say no to war as a genre.

  7. @Carmen
    Great concept and wonderfully whimsical!
Love the hair and choice of colors and matching colored eyes and smiles
Also love the minimalistic faces and bodies.
Kewl poses and uses of stuff: book, staff, vials and bubbling cauldron.
    An awesome pic all around.
    Too fun! Well done!

  8. The new sheriff had to figure out what happened. Why would those old coots have gone killin’ each other at the reef? And what did the mermaids down at the Catfish House know about it? There was blood in the water, and somebody had to answer for it . . .

*noir, fantasy, western? Somehow just two is harder for me–hope this is okay.

  9. Thanks cliff! You’re like my #1 fan!

Ok, this one I did 100% as a joke cos it probably wont even qualify. Due to this I decided to add some more space at the top via Photoshop and use the text in that to make the dialogue (i really cant get the hang of HM fonts. So… sorry for that)

    Anyway. Anime/Disney. Literally.

Daisuke and Laura are from two different worlds.

He, an orphan who tragically lost his parents in the most horrific way possible at the age of 12 now adventures around and competes to be stronger and obtain artifacts to advance whatever quest he’s on. He also frequents saving the world.
She, a princess who sings a lot and has animal friends instead of human ones due to the fact she has no mother and her dad just doesn’t understand her. She also frequents twirling.

  10. Ubiquitous Pixel

Not sure if he qualifies, but I see him as Sci-Fi, Horror, and he is an antihero so kinda a Superhero genre.
