@The Atomic Punk (1) – Only a little bit. – I like the face tattoo, the pose is simple but show the character have a strong aura. Great coloring work.
@Kaylin88100 (4) – Yeah perfect fitting. Very hard to make correct cloth for not the standard body. So this is my favourite colors red and black.

@Skybandit (9) – First the good things. – The way of the light is good. I like the door in the background. I have some visually problem. First i think the breathplate is too big, and give a bad size looking. The right forarm direction is not good, it lookes like he broke his own arm. I see a lot of great idea this picture. I think that backgroud is soo good.
Skybandit (9): What Tarkabarka said. The right forearm (our left) looks wrong. You could try flipping the bracer, I think that should help. I don’t agree about the breastplate though, I think that looks OK. I like the background as well, and love the light effects 🙂
In addition to my previous comment: I think the left arm (our right) looks wrong. Arms don’t bend like that. It needs to be straight or bending out if you want the hand like that, not bending in. I see why you did it, though. Here’s a tip for the future: look in a mirror when you want a pose. See if it’s actually possible. It really helps me 🙂

@Vampyrist (16) – First of all – Overally this is an awesome picture. I like the idea of a sharkhead pirate and the boat. So what is the visually mistakes. – The side of the boat. – The waves in the front of the boat. The shark men right hand under the handguard. I like the coloring, btw i think this picture is so good.

Vampyrist (16): From what I see it’s as Tarkabarka said, “the right hand under the handguard.” Also, the arms look a bit long for how they’re positioned. It makes him look like a Goomba from the live-action Super Mario Brothers movie. Aside from that, nice image and good lighting.
Ah, I can see it now. So, Vampyrist, I like it 🙂 Lovely colouring and shading, but I agree with Tarkabarka that the side of the boat doesn’t really fit with the front, it looks kinda wrong. I think the wave and the hand work though. Overall, pretty good 🙂
@Kaylin88100 (13) – Sorry i don’t see this picture. – Very hard to wrote anything, but i make a try. Personally i have some problem with the pose. It don’t realized me for she is levitate or stand. And i find another color for the wing. Btw i want to see when you really finish the picture.
@Kaylin88100: Not intended to be Avatar, just came out that way. She’s a character from one of my GURPS campaigns some *mumble* years ago. Elves, like humans, were once cave dwellers and hunter-gatherers. Since they are a much older race, I moved their genealogy to the Mesozoic period.
I like Eagle Spirit, but I would use a chain weapon or a net. When it comes to avians, swords and other melee weapons seem impractical. They would probably use the power of flight to their advantage with ranged weapons or spears.

@skybandit: I like the highlights. Definitely redo the arms. The feet are small, almost like they couldn’t support the weight of the armor. Maybe a heavier boot?

On another note, what DC Relaunch titles have you all been picking up? Are they any good? So far I’ve just got Justice League International #1 (off eBay due to a lack of decent comic shops within reasonable distance). But DC Universe Presents (UK reprint book, not the main DC one) is printing Justice League, Green Lantern and Action Comics #1s. So I’m probably going to be reading that- when it comes out in December.

I’m not seeing cross-eyed, Kaylin(28). I am seeing…umm, well…mannish. Raise her head a pixel or two to give her a longer neck. And her pose seems stiff. If you could get her arms to hang down a little more, it would look more natural. Those are just my first impressions.

Trekkie (26): Since my college’s newspaper has me doing reviews of DC, here are the ones I review each month. I pick up a few more, but here are the main titles in no real order:
Justice League, Aquaman, Action Comics, Detective Comics, Nightwing, Green Lantern, Green Lantern: New Guardians, Captain Atom, Grifter, Deathstroke, Red Hood & the Outlaws, and Flash.
Thankfully Justice League #2 is better than #1.

Tarkabarka (32): Very nice picture, except what McKnight57 said, and that there’s a gap between her neck and head because of the extreme angle you’ve put the head at. Could you maybe make the rotation less?
Also looking again the rose looks quite flat.

Mcknight – It’s a hard thing everyone tell Hungary but in the country we call Magyarország. I see the review but my big problem there is no comic selling in hungary. I knew a very few of the superheroes. I have memories in the early 90-s, when they running comics, but todays only a few run it. (Spiderman, Star Wars, Mangas)
In hungary we don’t make halloween. For me this is a very sad day, we call this day The day of the dead with hungarian A Halottak Napja. Everyone goes for the cemetery and bring flowers the grave of the death relatives.

Army Elf – Not seeing any immediate flaws to it. It looks pretty good.
Also, I’ve been a Lions fan (don’t ask why) for about 20 years now, back to the Barry Sanders days. So, believe me, it’s surreal enough for them to open 5-1 this year, let alone have any chance at the SuperBowl.

Here’s one I got for critique, it’s my version of headless horseman, another character with little extra to him. I’m still having trouble pulling some pieces of my art into a full picture with background, that’s why I usually just focus on the character. With the competition getting stiff on here as it’s been I would like to learn how to really finish off a character with a nice appropriate setting, any ideas on how to really make a good background?
I like that we can have these times to do what we want on a blog together even if Jeff forgot the PUP. How about we make it a contest 🙂 entries end once we hit 75 comments and the theme being just “Fantasy” with the last PUP as judge ans the winner gets bragging rights but is still open to critique?

Myro (37): I appreciate even 1 nomination. It means even more coming from someone who was one of the first to have a PUP. As for the halloween thing, since I’m the same height as Robert Downey, Jr and already have the goatee (yep, I’m one of those), I’m gonna go with a suit and arc reactor underneath and just be Tony Stark.
@TOOL(51): I can’t really fault any particular thing in your picture, but I kinda expect a necromancer image to be somewhat darker. For me, all that white in the background spoils it. I know that simply sticking a black rectangle there will hide a lot of what you’re trying to show, but maybe a dark brown “ground” a black “sky” and a moonglow to highlight the upper part? Just a thought…..
@Knighthawk(48): on the second question: Is the Blob’s size part of his power description? I admit I don’t remember much about him from the comics, but if the movie was right he got big from overeating and it had nothing to do with it, so then it would be a no. I however detract that statement if anyone has a better memory and being big WAS part of his “powerset”. 😉
Also, as far as Football is concerned, you guys are all wrong and the Giants are getting their stuff together and making the Superbowl this year. hehehehehehehe 😛 😀 😉

OH and as far as PUPs, Tarkabarka and McKnight57 seem good choices, so I’ll second (or third of whatever the count is) those nominations.
I was at my LCS where I’m on a first name basis with both of the guys that work there and the owner. Anyway, somehow the topic of choose-your-own-adventure books came up. One of the guys recalled one where there were some pretty sketchy adventures and even weirder opponents. One involved being bitten or gored by a syphillitic walrus and the other was something about robot clusterf&*%s. Just thought I’d throw that out there seeing as this is a sharing event.
Hmmm…Fantasy contest eh? I think I might have something to put forward for that…just about everything Tarkabarka’s posted so far could count though.

Here’s my entry for whatever little contest we’re doing now. It’s my version of a Soul Reaper costume for Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach with the bankai (final form) of his Zanpaku-to, Zangetsu. This image should be taking place after a battle, thus the rubble lying around him.

@Myro (39) – Personally i love the theme. I’m a huge fan of a scottish band, and they album cover very similary for this picture. I think the colors give an agressive feeling of the character.
@Tool (49) – Very creepy but i like it. Very complex picture. The headless driver really cool. I have on visually problem. If i make it i don’t use straight arm for take the head. BTW i like this picture.
@Tool (51) – Also so Creepy picture. I agree with Worf. If you use the /Blackground/shapes/Square gradient with black and red color i think very perfect for this picture.
@Kaylin88100 (59) – I love the colorwork of this picture. Really looks like she is a daughter of nature. I like her face.
@McKnight57 (65) – One of my favourite manga. Very good picture. You don’t want to copy Ichigo and make a unique looking for him.

Umm…OK, out of the enries so far (that were actually entries to the contest) I’m gonna go for spidercow2010’s Gladiator, because I like the composition of the picture as a whole including the background. Plus I can’t immediately see how that cool background was done, which is nice.
However, if Tarkabarka decides to enter one or two of the pictures he’s posted then I might change my mind. (hint: I like Serenya!)
