Yah, that’s true. Mostly it’s just the fact that we run the critter through and then panic that gets me laughing. Maybe we just aren’t used to physical pain. Maybe the monks spar with foam-padded weapons, so actually getting hurt freaked us out.

Well, technically he IS a very young man, not fully trained. He’s just seen his entire school destroyed and pretty much everyone he knew slain. He’s alone and lost, probably for the first time.

The series is, I think, much longer than this one book, so one way of looking at it is that he starts out very callow and afraid, and grows into his confidence and strength as the series goes on.

Or, he’s a pussy.

Yeah, I thought Lone Wolf was supposed to be an apprentice Kai Warrior, NOT apprentice Kai pee-in-your-pants-and-cry-like-a-girl-every-time-you-see-danger dude….

I get being startled in the dark, but being near panic and running like a girl….THAT was WAAAAY not a warrior-like attitude.

That being said, I’m more of the lone kind, so I choose to stay under the trees.

Egad, we really are a coward. I mean, of course there have been indications, but you really can’t top panicking after you win a fight for proof.

As such, I think we should join the refugees. We can use them as human shields next time something scary happens.
