And here is the rewrite of Sidey's origin:

UNCLE SCROOGE! NO!!
And then, from the death of Peter's beloved Uncle scrooge, Peter learned that with bags of money, disney must do whatever is necessary to get more bags of money.

What some people forget is that Disney is also affiliated with MGM (does Disney owns MGM?), which produce and distribute the James Bond franchise. Not everything at Disney is kiddie-stuff.

This wouldnt be a problem for DC if they actually took advantage of their much superior characters...I mean, seriously, how long must we wait for a Batman/Superman Worlds Finest movie? How could that NOT break records at the box office? Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash...all posibilities that have talked about, but how much action is really being put into making them a movie...or like Marvel was doing...and creating stable character to use in each others movie, and then come out with the avengers starring those same characters...imagine a justice league movie...or a Green lantern Corps movie...the possibilities are overwhelming...and also, Im afraid of Mickey Mouse guest starring in comic books...

Unfortunately, Disney is VERY bad about scrapping projects they think are "too expensive". Let's face it, superhero movies are expensive...

I must say, at first this seemed alarmingly weird, but there is no way possible Mickey is becoming the next PG-13 action star. Sure, Disney has all of its family-friendly franchises that are the major face, but it's also got its own more adult-oriented side. Of course, this also naturally means no art of Marvel characters abusing Disney ones, but I'm sure you could just image search that for all the fanart in the world and have a barrel of laughs.

Uhmmm, A-Bag?... Sorry, but since when, exactly, was Captain America a Jew? Originally, he was from Virginia, not New York!
Anyhow, considering what Marvel's been publishing, lately, are you so sure it's a bad idea?

I think my friend John's right, this is mostly about the movie franchises. Super-hero movies sell, big, and Marvel has proven they understand how to translate their enormously profitable stable of characters onto the big screen. Hopefully Disney will lend the fledgling Marvel Studios guys some much-needed experience and resources so they can really soar and bring us more films of the quality of Iron Man.

I actually think this is a Very Good Thing for Marvel. They're going to get the stability and backing of a much larger, overall more stable, company to help them through the historically inevitable ups and downs of the comics industry, and they now have an enormous marketing machine behind all of their products.

I'd say the big loser in all of this is DC, who really need to get off their butts and figure out how to take their intellectual property to the next level like Marvel has. They've been very hit or miss in everything except comics and animated series (Batman and Superman are light years better than anything Marvel has done, but then again, Disney excels at that). DC's margin for error just got a lot, lot smaller.
