So it’s either…
A. Use a midgets baseballbat that has the same effect as poking an elephant with a stick.
Or B. Shooting them with a bullet and kill them instantly (or wound them.

Yes, they’re blackjacks, also commonly used throughout all these Golden Age books to knock the heroes out after they’ve resisted the actual hail of gunfire. For the purposes of this joke I was making it seem like they were hitting the two guys with bullets instead because otherwise I couldn’t think of a funny headline. But yes, they’re blackjacks.

Those look like black jacks that they are being hit with.
Its like a small leather club, that hurts like hell when you get hit with it.(Child hood memories, I think I still have a knot or two.lol)They are very effective. Also back in the day they used about a 16 inch piece of electrical wire that is about 1 inch in diameter to do the same thing. the copper wire and the leather both would leave little to no marks, except for a knot or two on the head.

What cracks me up is that they’re telling their victims to be quiet, which would imply they don’t want to make noise, which makes their threat to use guns particularly nonsensical. “If you’re not quiet I’ll make lots of noise, so there!”

Also, every one of these old-time Golden Age stories has multiple people getting taken out by being hit on the back of the head with something, usually a pistol butt. Like here, The Black Terror literally can stop bullets, but he’s always taken unawares and knocked unconscious via pistol-whipping.

I honestly can’t think of an issue that didn’t have that happen, out of the dozens and dozens I’ve gone through over the past few months. It’s weird.

If they really don’t mind using bullets, they should just use the bullets. Lot less backtalk that way.
Their sapping skills seem to need work if a child is still complaining after the first application.
