The Secret Lair
“What was that, Mr. Skullcape?!”
“Aw, dang… those were supposed to be in a thought bubble!”
I’m impressed that he can speak clearly, much less shout, while clutching a rusty blade between his teeth. Why even make the effort and risk cutting up your mouth? Maybe he’s lying to give his captors a false sense of security; maybe he’s actually making excellent headway with that rusty blade!
Excellent points, Xstacy. I love love love that they not only put the shouting on its own line, but put it in bold AND in italics, as if to make it even shoutier.
The Grim Reaper is an eccentric millionaire in his secret identity, used to his every whim granted instantly. So maybe this is actually a SARCASTIC shout, and he’s assuming the natural reaction of the peasant criminals will be to fetch him a sharper, non-rusty knife, PRONTO.
